ward hit for the cycle last night, going 4-5 with 6 rbi's to match it. i havent had time to look this guy up, so where the heck has he come from? hes putting up video game type stats. hes a big time bat that the pirates need badly.

he spent a few years in the astro's organization...he put up decent numbers in 2000 despite marginal time (20 HR, 47 RBI, .258 BA)...last year he was with the dodgers and only played in 52 games...so far he has been on fire with the pirates, hopefully he can stay productive for awhile so we can trade him away before he comes back to earth...

exactly S^3^. pirates tried to get him from the 'stros a few years back but he was a big time prospect then. he has yet to live up to his expectation. the reason that he did very poorly with the dodgers last year is that he was outta shape. if you have watched him on tv, u know he is a big boy. if he stays focused and in shape, hed be a nice bit of trade bait for the bucs before july 31.
