Ken Griffey Jr.

Post by England »

Griffey has 496 homers right now and is on fire this year. Just imagine how many he would have if not for injuries the past three years. Even only 40 per year puts him up in the 600's. If he wasnt injured and had three good years he could be up near Bonds right now.

They are great homerun hitters, but they aren't team players. They only look out for themselves. That is why they don't have any world series rings.

You need to give some evidence to back up your statement on that one Deliverance.

What proves your comment?

They don't have any rings proves my comment. Griffey is hitting a whopping .249 this year. So that means all he is doing is swinging for the fences. However, it hasn't cost the Reds yet, it will. I think we all know that Griffey can hit a lot higher than .249. But he's swinging for the fences everytime up to make up for lost time when he was hurt. That's not a team player.

Are you sure about this? Are you sure the manager isnt asking Jr. to swing for the fences?

Or is this statement your opinion?

What about Bonds? You accused him of the same thing.

Bonds wouldn't have 503 career stolen bases if he wasn't worried about winning.Your statement is ridiculous. There are dozens of hall of famers that would trade their stats for a ring.503 sb's is putting your own body at alot more risk than you need to if you don't care about the team. They might not have the greatest personalities, but I don't think you can question their drive.Heck Griffey has the stats to get into Cooperstown if he never hits another dinger;why do you think he keeps coming back from injuries and trying to do it?Use your head.

deliverance, that is one of the dumbest statements I have ever heard of.....I would like to know your definition of a team player, Griffey and Bonds play their part, they do their job, but the two teams their on right now arent the best....so what are they supposed to do? Get base hits instead of HR's? I think not..HR's in baseball are worth 1 run, which can be a run to help the players TEAM to win a GAME.....think about it...

2 H.R.'s last night, if i had that kind of power and success at the plate I would keep swinging for the fences too...
