Phil Jackson and the Lakers

Post by deliverance »

Phil Jackson will not return to the Lakers next year. Shaq then demanded a trade. Also, Kobe opted for free agency. However, they say he'll be back because it's his team now. What does everyone think? Anyone have any opinions on who the Lakers should trade Shaq for?

Shaq will be part of the Celtic rebuilding program. Celtic pride will be revived.

Shaq will be back i believe this is a ploy by Buss to get Kobe to resign, he wanted shaq to go public saying he wanted out so that way kobes would think its his team. The short list of candiates for the hc job is jim cleamons, brian shaw, Pat Riley,Henry Bibby, and Rudy T, but that will never happen cuz he has 2 years left on his contract with the Rockets.

Dude i got news for you if shaq goes to the magic the only player they would take would be TMAC and it would take probally Drew Gooden and 3 first round draft pics to get it done. He isnt goin anywhere no one will put a package good enough to have the Lakers give him the best center since the stilt and Russell.

Imagine if Shaq went to the Rockets, him and Yao would be unstoppable.

A question about Shaq is: What are his intentions? How bad does he want to win? Does he want to win or be "The Man."?

The Magic makes perfect sense for Shaq. The Lakers will never get full value for him anyway. If they don't trade him this year, he will leave next year and they will get nothing for him. Buss has ticked off Shaq to the point where he would probably rather sit out the season than play with Kobe again.

The Magic have draft picks to offer. Since Kobe is still so young, the Lakers may have to rebuild a year or two, but they can get back quickly with good draft picks. Shaq going to the Magic would probably convince McGrady to stay. If the Magic don't get Shaq, then McGrady departs and that leaves Orlando with a total rebuilding project.

If Orlando would trade their #1 pick to the Lakers for Shaq then the Lakers could pick up Emeka Okafor with their first pick. He wouldnt be as good as Shaq but he is still a force inside.
