Shaq to the Miami Heat....
Shaq to the Miami Heat....
Basically a done deal...I can't believe he got traded. LA is getting tons in return and that is what they needed. Odom and Butler and Grant PLUS a future #1. Sure Miami gave up a TON, but a guard and Shaq can basically get it done with a decent supporting cast.

Wad and Shaq will be able to get things done in Miami...they will be able to make a run at the title...Shaq is the most dominating player in the league..no one can stop him it's that simple...Shaq will also be unbelievable in the East because he isn't gonna play against the competition inside the paint that the West offers

The winner ain't always the one with the fastest car....it's the one who refuses to lose!

Shaq has seen his better days. He will make Miami a contender. However, if they don't get a few more guys to go along with him and Wade, they don't really have a shot at the title. The Lakers are in trouble. Payton wants out now too. I really don't see Kobe staying either. Can you imagine what the Lakers team will look like if Kobe goes? They will turn into the Clippers.

Lamar Odom and Caron Butler are both great young players--If Kobe stays, they have a good young nucleus to build a franchise around. There's no question that they need to get a good big-man though.

Re: Shaq to the Miami Heat....
I've heard some rumors that the Lakers going to get Vlade the Body Divac to fill the hole at center... he began his career as a Laker why not end it as one?

Re: Shaq to the Miami Heat....
if the lakers don't pick up vlade, the MUST find a center. i was on nba.com looking at their new roster, and i only saw 1 player listed @ center, a 6-11 noname rookie who isn't even signed yet. Even if Kobe stays, they will be in a world of hurt w/o a legitimate center. Kobe won't be able to score because opposing defenses will know they don't have to make an attempt to guard the post, and they can double up on Kobe. All 3 of the new guys need to really to have breakthru seasons or the Lakers chances for doing squat will be gone.

Re: Shaq to the Miami Heat....
Kobe will score no matter if he's double teamed or what defense they run. The bigger question is whether any other guys on the team will step up. Payton has to go back to scoring 15-20 points a game. I expect this to be Kobe's best season ever. It's too early to tell how they will do as a team though.
