i doubt that, now granted ive only ever played soccer, but ive had seasons where i spent the whole summer in an air cast, including the first week of camp, and was still able to make it thruough all the exercises and what not....pre-season camp really isnt as hard as people make it out to be...that goes for any sport at any school, dont get me wrong now, its enough to make kids schedule un-necessary rootcanals during practices but they really arent bad, im actually gonna miss not being at the track at 7 am come monday morning

Re: Preparing for x-country
Well, when I actually revived myself in running last fall and lost weight, my two bread and butter workouts, so to speak, were 1) a nine mile run with some tough hills (bout 3 to 4 miles up hills) and 2) going to the track and doing mile repeats with a one lap walk in between. I'd go for a sub 6 pace on every one. And me, I need to start working out. I'm not going to be doing xc in college, but at 185, I could stand to lose about 15 to 20 pounds to get lighter and faster.
