Commitment. That is a vital ingredient that lies in the heart of the Athlete, the Coach, and the supportive elements of: fans, parents, community, and the administration of the particular school district.

sometimes to succeed in life u gotta go out of ur way as 4him explained with dell, i myself have traveled to johnstown and altoona to play on soccer teams that play all their games in pittsburgh...if u want something bad enough...the distance wont matter

but u make a good point about the geographic size of a school compared to population, this especially affects the youth teams in which the kids cant drive. in beaver falls u could go to a local park and c kids age 5 to 15 that walked there to play ball...u cant do that when it takes u 30 minutes just to walk off ur farm

nbc and bedford will compete for bedford county but ridge could also make a run with a good record but if they would have to play one of these teams to win that title, they wouldnt come out with it.

nbc, mcconnellsburg, and possibly forbes road will compete for the SHL title though. tough race this year!

NB seems to have quite a few good athletes that I recognize from the more high profile sports playing and could be looking at their first winning season in quite sometime.

I saw the Chestnut Ridge game tuesday and was very impressed by the athletic ability and skill. Looks like if fall sports are any indication things could be back to normal for the Panther nation and their usually competitive boys programs as opposed to last years anomaly.

In response to the ridge? bedford? or NBC? I vote NBC, but let me also say this if northern would play the whole game like they play the first 10 - 20 minutes of the game they would dominate instead of having to scramble to protect the lead when they give up a few goals. Second I don't believe that ridge should even be on the list, I mean no offense to them but after seeing the game that Everett gave Northern the other night I think the should be on that list rather than ridge.

I think all the area teams should be on the poll but hey, we didn't make it up so just go with it I guess.
