This is a huge game for the Panthers to start off the 04 season on the right note. I look for them to play some tough, hard nosed football on Friday night.

On a side note, I was talking with HR and we came up with a pretty nice idea to begin the Panthers home season each year. Any and all former players from Replogle, Smith, and NBC are welcome to meet with me prior to the game. All the old players will then walk the "new" team down to the field. I know if I saw a guy that was as old as my grandfather leading me to the field...I'd want to knock someone into next week. So all former players, come join us for this new tradition on Friday night. Be there early for the announcement for further details.

I can't stress enough how important this game is to NB. They need to come out strong and agressive against the blue pirates. I think a lot of the team remembers last year and want a little revenge. We will see just how much the black panthers want to win this game by the first couple of plays!

As far as the new PCS tradition starting, it doesn't sound like a bad idea.

The Pirates return more talent,skill, and size since the says of Appleman and Baker and McCall. If NBC isn't ready to go, they may get embarrassed. W-Burg will be tough in single A this year.

The Mirror completely dissed the Black Panthers today when they selected Williamsburg overall to win the contest.

Sheesh, you guys act like NBC deserves all this respect. MY word, they won 2 games last season, right?

Respect is earned by playing well, playing hard, and winning. Judging by the dissertration that I read on this message board about "What it means to be a Panther" that was posted this past summer, I'd say that they need to do those things to ean some respect even from their own supporters!

You are right that NB needs to get their butts in gear to earn the respect that the program once had!! I think they will get there if the players play hard and tough like the country boys do!! We don't have skill and never will have that much skill but need to out-work their opponents which can be done and has been done in Panther Country for a while now!!Go Panthers
