Re: Chestnut Ridge Lion Football
I have met Wilkens several times and I have spent time at practice so a meeting is not needed dawg. I don't like to see others fail but when it comes to talking smack I feel that my ying and yang must be in balance.
Why?

Re: Chestnut Ridge Lion Football
One game does not a season make. Don't worry the choking will come.
Why?
Re: Chestnut Ridge Lion Football
Saw Ridge play in person Sat night and well they have one heck of a team. Was really glad to see them beat the catholics. I wish it was by more that what they did. Choking?? I dont think this group of seniors will let that happen. Just my opinion here.
Re: Chestnut Ridge Lion Football
Let me try and clarify a few things:
1. The 2 pt call was made by the coaching staff, not the players. Coach Wilkins had asked the seniors prior to the game if they would want to go for 2 or kick if they were in that sort of situation. The players said go for the win. The play call was made by the staff, the decision to go for 2 was the players. Also, I don't think it was that bad of an idea to go for two. I mean do you want the game to come down to the kicker, a soccer player who had already missed an extra point that night, or to your best athletes(Barefoot, Novak etc) its a no brainer. If you want to question the play call that's one thing, but questioning the decision is another. If that play works, everyone is saying what a great call.
2. I don't know how anyone can say that Ridge has choked. When Wilkins took over they were in shambles. They were 0-10 or 1-9 they year before he got there. Last year they hosted a playoff game. That is a big turn around in a short period of time if you ask me. You can't say that a team that hasn't experienced playing in meaningful games choked. It takes experience in big situations to come up big under pressure. This year if Ridge collapses you could say there was some choking, because they have the experience and the talent.

Just as a side note:
This Goodwill guy is obviously one of a few things:
1.) Some former Dan Wilkins player who feels he got the shaft when he played for Ridge.
OR
2.) Some Parent of a kid who played for coach Wilkins and feels like his kid got the shaft when his kid played there.
OR
3.) Some guy who is trying to relieve some glory days perception of how good he was when he played somewhere.
Most likely he is either 1 or 2. My guess is he never accomplished anything. If I'm wrong call me out Goodwill, where did you play, what have you done?

Wilkins is a class guy who IMO has the experience and knowledge to take CR as deep as their talent will allow. I enjoy competing against him and the only thing I see him choking on his his roast beef when he accepts the ICC Nittany Division Championship Trophy at the Banquet in November.
