Buckeyes 22 - NC State 14
While Penn State at home was trying to remember how to hold on to the ball against UCF and West Virginia at home was squeaking by the 4th or 5th best team in the ACC (according to the boys on ESPN), the Buckeyes were ON THE ROAD beating a good ACC team convincingly.
The local papers were calling it the biggest home non-conference game in Wolfpack history, but the OSU defense was TOO much for the NC State offence and forced SIX turnovers. Well, actually, only five because the official inaccurately ruled that A.J. Hawk's second interception touched the ground. This ruling allowed NC State to score a second touchdown with 1:30 remaining and make the score look more respectable.
Some of you will say that the Buckeye offense looked terrible, and they did. But that is Tressel ball and no other coach can say they have won 28 of the last 30 games.

yeah beating a team (Maryland) that has won 10+ games the last 3 years is terrible. How dumb are you wildcat? NC State dominated that game and you know it. NC State might be 4th or 5th in the league maybe you are confused sorry about that!

The thing about Maryland being the 4th or 5th best team in the ACC came from Trev and Mark on ESPN. Maybe they are idiots, but I think they are better qualified than either of us to judge that. We really won't know until the end of the year.
Plus, Ohio State was not dominated. I assume that you did not watch because the game was never really in doubt in the second half. Both defenses dominated the game. I think once the NC State quarterback pulls himself out of the turf, he would agree that OSU's defense dominated. Now, OSU's offense was dominated, but that is not uncommon. Defense wins championships. If you don't believe this, look at whose name is on the 2002 Sears trophy.

Maybe I don't know football, but I was quoting Trev Alberts and Mark May. Are you suggesting that they don't know football? One was an All-American outside linebacker and the other an All-Pro offensive lineman. I also know quite a bit about OSU football, as I have watched almost every game since the early nineties. They had unbelievable offenses in the 1990's. One of those teams (1998 I think) went to Morgantown and destroyed the Mountaineers. However, they did not win a championship. They won a championship in 2002 with a great defensive team.
I admit that I don't know football as well as you, but what have I said that is inaccurate?

I dislike Trev as much as anyone. He is more down on the Buckeyes than any other analyst (possibly to counter Herbstreit's love for them).
This whole thing got started because either he or Mark May - is he an idiot too? - said that Maryland is the 4th or 5th best team in the ACC. Do you disagree with that? Time will tell, but I would put Miami, Virginia and possibly FSU, NC State or VT ahead of them. That makes them 4th or 5th best.
