Everett vs. NBC
Re: Everett vs. NBC
I got goose bumps walking on the the PCS field behind my grandfather the first game. The crowd, sure it gets the players and coaches pumped...and yes, the band helps a little too, don't get me wrong, but nothing like the crowd.

i can honestly say that it has never even began to get me pumped hearing Bedfords band, i listened to music before the games, but if I didn't hear one song its not like I wasn't going to be able to play. I did my getting pumped up and ready to play when I was on the field warming up, looking down at the 'enemy'

I agree that the crowd is the #1 thing to pump me up!!! But when you hear those beating it is pretty awesome!! Especially Our band b/c we have like 500 kids in the band!!LOL

The book says play for the tie, and if you lose in OT it's bad luck.
But play for the victory in regulation and lose? You're a bad coach

Re: Everett vs. NBC
I think the band and the crowd help some. The band doesn't help pumping up anybody, but do you ever hear them playing when their own team's got the ball? You rarely or never hear that. I only played in jr. high, so I don't know if that would really distract the offense any, if at all, but it might do it once in a while. But crowd noise is the biggest thing. Winning at Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City) is considered an accomplishment because it's the noisiest stadium in the NFL. Crowd noise at that level can make it really tough for a team to hear one another, let alone getting off a coordinated offensive play. They say that it's the toughest place to win. But then, that's a whole nother level above high school football.
