Panther Pride!!

Post by heckie »

Congratulations to the panther football team. You boys have instilled pride back into the hearts of former players and all the football fans in the community. It's nice to see this team play with pure guts and determination. This week is another big test with JV coming to PCS. I will be there to root these hard working young men on to hopefully another big win. Set your goals as a team and achieve them with Panther Pride! These boys have already proved they can do it. Use this momentum and confidence to carry you to a D-5 title. You gotta believe.

I was impressed with the determination shown by the Black Panthers on Friday night. Quite easily, if Mann connects on the Extra Point in the first OT, the entire view of the game changes.

I am not sure if both teams played that well defensively or that both offenses could not seem to get into any rhythm...either way, both teams can look to improve offensively in terms of sustaining drives, especially NBC, who will have to contol the ball to win in the playoffs.

Best of luck to players and staff of both teams with the remainder of the season. It was pleasure to see 5.000 or so people attend a beautiful facility in rural central Pa on a Friday eve and support their respective communities.

Yeah, If Mann would have kicked that field goal or xpt they might not have lost. But I believe Oberman missed a field goal and an XPT to. Remember the ball bounces both ways.

If Mann would've kicked that extra point, the game would've been over and Everett would've won 14-13. Give all props to Houston Klotz for stopping that from happening with the block. That was huge and gave Northern all the momentum in the 2nd OT.

If the encroachment call wouldn't have been made on Oberman's good kick, then Mann's would have only tied it. NB had to try that dang thing 3 times!!!

Coach

Another point to ponder/stress this week in practice on the theme of determination. 2 successful tries taken away, and the third denied. But did the young men fold and wilt? No. Them overcame. Great motivation material.

Like many of you have said, seeing this team go 4-0 on heart, guts, and determination is enough to make any former panther football player proud and gives this community something to cheer about. It's a game like that on Friday that gives me chills when watching it and, not afraid to admit it, when they won in the 2OT brought tears to my eyes. And on another sidenote, it was great seeing a standing room only crowd. I remember being in conversations where many thought that a stadium that big would rarely be filled...PCS is something that this community should have had years and years ago so the fact that we have a field now and a team that is doing awesome is going to fill that place. It's just great seeing the support that is well deserved for this team.

That was the first game that I've watched from the bleachers since I was in 8th grade and it was fun listening to former players and fans that have been watching Panther football since the '70s. It felt good listening to them tell me about games they watched whenever I was playing and talking about specific plays in games and such. We have some very intelligent fans when it comes to the game of football and not once when I was sitting there did I hear some remark about the coaching or using the right play and all that. It was nothing but supportive and intense fans into every play on every down the whole game. It was great to know and it should be even better to know as a current player now that you guys have the entire community behind you and when you play like you did on Friday that it makes the weekend better for every person in attendance.

You guys are just getting started so keep up the hard work and keep making yourselves, the coaches, and the fans proud.
