Re: District rankings after week 5
Not so fast with your calculations there power points are all worth the same (10 pts. per win no matter what size the school) and if ridge does win out they will be be picking up a pile of bonus pts. from teams they haven't played as of yet like Mo Valley 5-0, Bellwood 4-1 and NBC 4-1 plus still collecting from BG, claysburg and Everrett again this is your equation but only if they go undefeated. So BM and FH better not loose another and have teams with good records left on their schedule to pass the Lions. I know BM has Bedford to play yet but who else. I don't know who FH has to play yet.

Re: District rankings after week 5
Ridge will get as many powerpoints from Glendale as Bedford is from Penn Cambria (0-5)!
What about Heights? Central? Somerset? Richland? lot of Power points there!
There's a long way to go yet and a lot of big games to play. Don't get ahead of yourself ham55.
If Ridge does have to travel in the first round I hope it is to Bedford so I don't have to drive very far.

Southpaw is correct. There are still a ton of imporant games that need played before the final standings will fall into place.
For Bedford, only one tough game remains, as the Bisons host McCort in Week 8. As for the Crushers, they have an insane schedule over the next four weeks, playing against teams with a combined (15-5) record. Eliminate Westmont from that mix and the final three weeks of the season for McCort look even more dreadful. With a combined record of (13-2), the Crushers will host Johnstown and Forest Hills, with Bedford sandwiched in between. These next four weeks will be huge, not just for McCort, but for all AA teams still in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Re: District rankings after week 5
Thank you Jozey.
FYI ham55 whether you like Ridge's competition or not their last 4 opponents have a combined record of 15-5 that's 150 powerpoints right now provided they win them all with more points added in each week.
Take out 2-3 AA Everett. The last three are 13-2 MV, BA, and NB.
If Ridge can win out I feel confident they will host a playoff game.

Re: District rankings after week 5
There are 2-3 Bedford people who turn everything into a Bedford vs. Ridge thing, and put down CR. Happened last year too on this site. I would just hope that you understand not all Bedford fans feel the same way. CR has built a decent program in wrestling and football. They argue that Ridge has weak competition, yet since joining the LHAC, has Bedford done anything in football? NO!! For me, until they at least win the D5/6 championship, Bedford doesn't have much room to talk.
Re: District rankings after week 5
People make such a big deal out of teams sporting these undefeated seasons and saying they don't play anyone. Coaches of Powerhouse teams who have teams on their schedule that are not very good, will most all the time tell you that those teams are the most dangerous to play. Teams take them lightly and those weaker teams generally have nothing to lose. Those are the most dangerous teams to play. They keep a good team strong and in check. You have to play those kinds of games a couple times a year. Have you ever heard of an upset victory. That is where the tem upset comes from, a lower ranked or weaker team defeating a higher ranked or stronger team.
"The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just."
But when your playing them week after week CoachK, thats where the doubters come in.
Southpaw, if Ridge does have to travel to Bedford, your right, you won't have to drive very far, until wrestling season starts. Because that will be the 10th and final game on their schedule.
Alright, I was mistaken, at least I can admit it. I'll just sit back and watch Ridge fold again this year when they get a home playoff game.

look closely at the AA point system...because bedford plays a predominantly AA schedule, they will recieve 100 pts for just about every win. ridge however plays mostly A schools therefore only gets 80 points for every win...so if Bedford went 8-1, without adding the power points, they would have more points than ridge would have if they went 9-0...in reality you could have an 8-1 or even 7-2 team hosting a first round game while a 9-0 team is riding the bus that first friday....
