Ohio State-Michigan Sponsorship deal

Post by Former Wildcat »

SBC just agreed to sponsor the Ohio State - Michigan game for the next two years. Each school will receive over $500,000 for this. I know this happens with bowl games and conference championship games, but is this a first for a regular season game? It seems an odd time, because neither OSU nor Michigan is a great team this year. Maybe they were looking ahead to next year, when the young talent on both teams will have grown up.

That is great but I don't know why they would pick Ohio St.-Michigan game though! Michigan is good but Ohio St. is average this year!! Ohio St. always choked against Michigan!! I like Michigan but not Ohio St., but I will be cheering for them this week as they face the little lions or are they not going to show up with that great O they have!! Go Buckeyes!

The Buckeyes will probably start Troy Smith at QB. He did fairly well in his first start last week and is pretty athletic. Keep an eye on two true freshmen who have worked their way into the starting line-up, Antonio Pittman at RB and Ted Ginn at WR. Pittman ran for 144 yards on 20 carries last week and Ginn has two touchdowns of over 50 yards the past two weeks. The offense might not be better, but at least they are making changes and using some younger players.
