You need to give the kid experience. Playing against your own team is a hell of a lot different than playing against Michigan or Iowa with 115,000 people in the stands. Look at Pitt and how they handled Palko. If they would have have gotten that kid some experience, that team would be 7-0 right now. But instead, guru Harris sat Palko and played Rutherford, a kid I said all along was garbage. There's no excuse for getting guys some playing time when you know they'll be the ones starting next season. It's just poor management.

Thanks coach Ancient you know. I like all these outsiders saying how things should work in college football, i just laugh and laugh at you. Be under the gun and make decisions and see how successful you are. Nobody gets on a message board and talks about what ever work you do or make the money a coach makes so. Try coaching at that level before judging!! ok?

You're exactly right, Hollywood. Giving a kid some experience in games never helps out your team in the next season. It doesn't seem too unrealistic that a more experienced QB could pull out a close loss to Nebraska or AT LEAST make that UCONN game closer. How many snaps did Palko and Getsky take last season?

They were the backups, and took ZERO snaps. I want you to write the post right now, Hollywood, that says you think it's a smart decision to not give any backups ONE SNAP.

I never said that it was a good idea, I am saying it happens all over the country that they never play their backups!! I am just saying you are not in their program to know what and how they practice if they are ready, etc. Might be a reason they are not play, how would you know! I am not saying by any means it is right not to have another QB ready to play because in one play you could be the starter as a backup!

When your starting QB starts to slip up like Rutherford did on numerous occasions, and you have two HIGHLY touted backups like Palko and Getsky, what does it hurt to give them some snaps? I guess you're going to tell me next that every Pitt game was down to the wire.

I don't follow them, just in one game vs the EERS!! I could care less about them but you have to respect what Coach Harris does. I hate know-it-alls that never have been there in the spotlight of coaching and try to take jabs at coaches. I think it is funny!

I think it's funny when people say "I'm the smartest man in the world" and then say "I don't have to tell you anything!"

People have every right to question what players and coaches do. This is a message board for football, brainiac.
