Big East

Post by gators_own_u »

Should the big east continue ti get a bsc bid with the conference usa teams coming in?

i don't think it should because it is just like a small conference like the mountain west etc... there is no reason why the big east should get one anymore. all it is doing is keeping a good team out of a bsc bowl

It's all going to depend on who these teams schedule as non-conference opponents. I like WVU, I think Rich Rodriquez is a good coach, but they are clearly not a team you want to rely on. Syracuse might be the biggest travesty in football, and Pittsburgh just cannot get over the hump. They already lost to Nebraska this season, and this is the worst Nebraska has been in 20 years. Rutgers is on the verge of being respectable, but when you have a talented backfield like that and still can't score points, you might as well not even show up. Louisville will help a lot, they have a lot coming back next season, but why is a BE-led Louisville a better contender for a BCS bid than when they led Conference USA? If you watch Conference USA football, the argument can be made that that is the best conference in football. It's not the SEC, of course, but it's kind of like the Laurel Highlands in the sense that it is very competetive within itself, but is still not quite as good as the WPIAL. It's all going to hinge on non-conference games. Pick up Navy and Army and play a conference championship.

I totally agree with you Hollywood. The team that comes out of the Big East will prove them wrong. Whether it is going to be West Virginia or Pittsburgh. I think it's a pretty safe bet that it will be WVU. I don't think they'd have much trouble with a team like Wisconsin in a bowl game.

Have you people looked at how well Wisconsin is playing? Go check out their defensive stats. WVU IS good, but they are struggling. You're lying to yourself if you think WVU can hang with ANY of those teams at the top, even Utah. You play Utah, you will be very shocked to see how efficient of an offense Urban Meyer really runs. This guy is for real, that's why he's mentioned for high profile jobs, and why Utah is undefeated, and why they have excellent recruiting classes, and why they have a Heisman candidate. Watch Utah.

hollywood you really need to think what your saying here. WVU doesn't have a chance to beat any bsc teams in a big bowl!!!! i agree that utah would beat the crap out of WVU and so would any other bsc bowl team

WVU is struggling and Wisconsin defense is good...but hypothetically let's say that they do meet up in a BCS bowl...how is WVU's offense gonna handle the Badgers D without Henry...becuase the way things are going for Henry he might not make it that far with his temper

Yes, I have been watching Wisconsin. They have a very good defense. That's pretty much it. Stocco isn't anything that special. Also, Davis does not even compare to Harris from West Virginia. They better hold West Virginia to 10 points or less if they'd meet up.
