Re: Boston College vs West Virginia
I think West Virginia wins this one, but with Hollywood on here, I'm hoping that Boston College wins.

Re: Boston College vs West Virginia
36-17??? is that the correct score? No it is just a good measuring stick to a mid/ave. team in the Big East. Wait and see what the Mountaineers do to the old Eagles later in the year
psu was more competative than that and the game was played in ""couch fire"" city!! its funny that everytime the eeeers play a respectable team they struggle or lose. think if they would have played in the acc or sec? i guess there is hope in site that when bc leaves the conference and they get a couple of d-1aa teams in there, the eers will surely be able to get thier rings and go to that bcs bowl!!!!

Re: Boston College vs West Virginia
WVU just got PUNKEED physically by a BC team who Pitt physically dominated a few weeks ago...
From what I observed, WVU is a horrible defensive team that also cannot throw the football. They're as one-dimensional as it gets offensively. Their defense is an absolute sieve.
All of a sudden, the Thanksgiving night game at Heinz Field looks VERY winnable for Pitt.
Hey, WVU may score 52 again this year...Problem is, Pitt may score 62.

Must be something wrong with my TV....no way EEEEEEEERS gives up 36 to them....If only Coach Rich would have been allowed to borrow Joepa's D for the day...EERs O combined with PSU D is definitely a national champion.

Re: Boston College vs West Virginia
I just was arguing about some things...
IF BC wins out they should be the BCS representative from the BE. WVUers are saying that as long as they beat Pitt they'll be ahead of BC in the BCS and they'll go...whatever...we'll see.
I will say however that I don't think they got beat physically as you stated Titan. Returns killed the Eers.
What I'm looking at from USA TODAY:
Rushing
BC- 36 carries, 81 yards
WVU- 50 carries, 238 yards
Passing
BC- 168 yds
WVU- 224 yds
TOTAL yards:
BC- 249
WVU- 462
+/- WVU won the yardage game by 213 yards
WVU had 3 turnovers to BC's 0.
BC had about 80 more return yards than Pitt. Including 2 for touchdowns.
The game was lost in TO's and special teams. BC was phyically punked if you want to talk about that. I just know posts are made to stir things up a bit...but....well I just posted a rebuttal that I believe makes a lot of sense.
WVU got beat even after outgaining BC by 213 yards...They should be kicking themselves after this one.....

Re: Boston College vs West Virginia
Coach,
BC's defensive line DOMINATED the game.
I agree special teams play hurt the 'eers, but a big key to the game was that BC's defensive line controlled Marshall and Harris.
Another point: That Pitt/WVU game is looking like A LOT better and more even matchup than Hollywood and all the blind, couch burnin' 'Eers fans may think.

What's gonna be even worse is when Syracuse beats Boston College.
But nobody benefits from the Cuse losing to Temple. Any way you slice it, the Big East is not looking very good.

you make a good point, but when a team is forced to punt and the other team returns it for a td, that team doesnt get a chance to use their offense and gain any yards.
i didnt see any of the game but if wvu was playing from behind the entire game bc's defensive philosiphy may not have been as aggressive as it would have been in a close game, thus giving yardage but not tds
im sure their will be expert insight coming soon!!

Re: Boston College vs West Virginia
Why does everyone think BC is so bad?

The winner ain't always the one with the fastest car....it's the one who refuses to lose!

Re: Boston College vs West Virginia
Everyone thinks BC sucks because they lost to Pitt.
