My call is that last game against MSU will mean a lot to them.
CMU is a formidable opponent. They can be a spoiler.

Ancient: You tell us about South Florida and Cincinnati. If they are tough opponents, the you'll have to admit that the Big East has some nice teams. If they are cupcakes, then you'll have to admit that PSU loads up their non-conference schedule with weak sisters. Which is it?

Re: PSU all over MSU
guess what folks...
that game that ive talked about when the psu football program would make the turn to the positive has happened. it occurred against indiana. winning a close game on the road created some momemtum. psu's defense won that game. psu's defense won this game. they forced mich. st. into mistakes and gave the offense the ball inside the 20 several times. this defense is a top 10 defense this year. next year, psu will have the best defense in the nation.
you gotta love to see zack mills go out on a high note too. he looked fast, decisive, and care-free. i thought i was watchin the game from 2001. he earned a happy ending after all the turmoil he was through.

PENN STATE FOOTBALL=
2005 BIG TEN CHAMPIONS
2005 BIG TEN CHAMPIONS
What were there only teams in College Football that didn't give up 21 points or more this year...? PSU's defense is tough, I agree Austin, they will be great next year also. Hopefully they can get the offensive woes corrected and this team will be amazing, one or two players away from a top 10 team overall!
Incase you were wondering, those teams were Penn State and Auburn...

Austin, were you right or did they see something in the films? How many other times this season did you see Penn State run five-hundred quarterback counters? Honestly, I think they played well because they figured Paterno was done, and because it was the last game of many of their careers.
Moldo, South Florida is a decent football team. They do get better every year, very very very slowly. Cincinnati, before the middle of October, was a joke just like they are every other year. The Big East also flirted with East Carolina, who is the worst program in the country. Cincinnati obviously makes sense from a basketball standpoint. But are there better football programs that the Big East could have went after? Also, keep in consideration that the Big East has a BCS bid. Toledo and Northern Illinois and Marshall and Bowling Green and UAB and Southern Mississippi and Navy and Army and Notre Dame and Miami Ohio are teams who get better every year. You're telling me that, with the exception of Notre Dame, that thos teams wouldn't be tempted to join a conference with a guaranteed BCS bid? The Big East Conference has a BCS bid and they still completely disregarded the bid, in an effort to become a basketball powerhouse. Do you think that that shows that they should keep that bid? It's pretty apparent that they are willing to let the conference football slide, even when they are technically getting the same prestige as the Big 12 and Big Ten and SEC and Pac-10. They are also giving Temple the boot. Why? Because their attendance is down? Why not go to a 12 team format and play a conference championship? I have a problem sending a conference to a guaranteed BCS bowl whenever they clearly don't appreciate the honor. Especially a conference of 7 teams, when there's 2 or 3 teams in every other conference that could beat them.

think if psu would have had any offense. its tough to play good defense when the defense is on the field the entire gameWhat were there only teams in College Football that didn't give up 21 points or more this year...? in 2002 psu had 8 out of 11 games at home

One or two players away from a top 10 team? They wont 4 games this season. Ham, you're quite optimistic. Maybe if those two players are Peyton Manning and Priest Holmes. That's the only way 1 or 2 players are making them a top 10 team.

Re: PSU all over MSU
I remember early this year thinking they were tough. I hope top 10 but they need a QB and an O-Line.
Is Morelli the guy? He looks awfully confused.

Re: PSU all over MSU
Hey give them some credit. Good win to close out the season. PSU should be much better next year with 18 starters returning and a favorable schedule.
I think PSU should name a sucessor soon and that should be Tom Bradley. He put together a great defense and has been an excellent recruiter. That way the transition would go a lot smoother.
