Five hunters killed in Wisconsin

This is the first time in my entire life that I've heard about a hunter going and deliberately committing murder while in the woods. A father and son, a teenage boy, and a woman were amongst those killed. The shooter had to be crazy, and if he wasn't, shoot him immediately. The story is accurate for the most part, though I would beg to differ about the SKS being a common hunting implement or assault weapon or whatever. But politics aside, this is just horrible and gives one a sick feeling in their stomach. This is absolutely nuts!

Very, very scary that someone would do this. The problem with something like this is that the seed is now planted, and it'll probably happen again somewhere else.

It's very unfortunate that this may be played up by the media as a strike against hunting, though that well be much less so with a Republican President. And it is also unfortunate that there may be some copycat murders that follow. I remember how much coverage there was on the tragedy at Littleton over five years ago (almost non stop for several days), and how that helped some teenagers decide that they wanted that kind of attention too, and didn't care how they got it. It is the media that breeds copycats with too much hype. Unfortunate, but true.

An update on this story: One of the three wounded hunters has passed away, leaving six dead people on this man's account.

Things like this are what deface hunting to so many. ALot of people wo don't think will just look at that and go "Amother reason we don't need guns..." In any case, yes, it is sad, but there's not much we can do for them now... Mmmm,,
