Syracuse @ Boston College

Post by deliverance »

This is the deciding game for who gets the BCS bid from the Big East. Syracuse is up 14-3 with 2:30 left in the first quarter. Syracuse has a corner in at running back. What's everyone's thoughts on this game?

Started the game off with bang, BC just doesn't seem to have it all together today for playing for the chance to go to a BCS bowl bid. The Orange could struggle if it comes down to ball control late in the game, they lost the back-up who went for over 70 on his first run of the game... Should be interesting to see how this whole Big East deal will go down...

Syracuse wins big. A Pitt victory over South Florida, and they'll be in a BCS Bowl. Maybe against Utah. I can't wait!!!!!!! Go Panthers!!!!!

I find it fascinating that a team from the Big East will automatically find its way into the BCS. Quite amusing.

HEY. Someone set up the rules for the bowl games. It's just like the NFL. Some divisions will have champs with 9-7 records. Yet they make the playoffs just like 15-1 teams do from other divisions. Rules are rules.

Exactly. You have to give them a chance. If the Big East champs get destroyed for a few years straight in the BCS, take away the bid. Like I said, who else deserves it? The ACC already has 2 and that's a complete joke. The SEC? How can you give a bid to a team that can't even win it's conference? Mountain West? Utah will never be seen again when Meyer leaves. Gonna reward one guy with a bid so he stays in Utah? How about the WAC? Sure, Boise State deserves a bid whenever the best team they play is Fresno State. How about C-USA? Yeah they lost Louisville and TCU and picked up SMU and UTEP. MAC? Best current non-BCS (arguably) but definitely not automatic bid material. The SEC, Pac-10, ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12 do not deserve two bids, one going to a team that can't even win their conference. If any of them would happen to get one, it should be the SEC. Can't reward the Big Ten and Pac-10 with another bid whenever they don't play a championship. Big East is maybe picking up Memphis and 2 more, making it 12 teams with a championship game. Big 12 would have to go to the winner of the North, because they're the runner up. Way to go Buffalos! And thank God Iowa State wouldn't have made it to a BCS game!

Give the Big East a chance. 3 years, if they're terrible in the automatic bid, give the bid to a non-BCS team that ends up the highest rated of them all.
