A good morning letter from JokePa!!!
Dear Fans,
I am still the coach at Penn State. We really had a good season this year. I just love the squad! The squad really was made up of a great bunch of kids. I just love these kids. They really hung in there and improved each week. These kids finished with a bang and helped us post our 4th losing season in five years. What a great bunch of kids. Who says we're not improving?? We doubled our win total from last year (went from 2-9 to 4-7)...I've been around coaching for 50 years and that's progress! I also have one of the best players in the country named Micheal Robinson...and I should know what a great player looks like since I've been coaching for over 50 years. How dare the media question my knowledge?
I just love these kids even though they couldn't pass or catch. Even though they couldn't run block when they had to. Even though our special teams were some of the worst in my 50 year career at PSU. I just love these kids and the way they handled adversity and got us to 9th place in the conference.
I just love the coaching staff, too. They really are a great group of guys who never quit. Galen and JayPa have become a great team and are always on the same wavelength. We work as a team to call every play...Galen calls all the trick plays (like sweeps and dives) and JayPa gets to call the other 3 plays in our play book. There's no dissention there. You better watch out...Anthony Morelli made great progress this year and was able to learn two of the 6 plays in our playbook. Maybe if he can learn that 3rd play, I can start him next season against Central Florida.
I can't wait for next year when we blow through the schedule and finish 6 and 5. I just love this school. I want to coach here for another 4 or 5 years. I feel great and I don't have anything else to do. I just love everything these days......the squad, the coaching staff, the administration, the entire university.
This prozac is pretty good stuff. I even enjoyed having Jackie Sherrill visit this past October. My wife and his wife are good friends. I wanna coach another 5-10 years, though, so I won't have to leave Major College Football to The Sherrills and Switzers of the universe...Anyway, Jackie just led Pitt to a BCS bowl bid this year. What's BCS stand for? We've never gone to that bowl game. Oh, that wasn't Jackie? It must have been Hackett or Gottfried. Doesn't matter. The Big 10 has been great for Penn State. I just love the Big 10. Recruiting is going well, too. I recruited and signed that linebacker kid from Gateway...What's his name anyway? Smith?
I have to go. The staff has a meeting in a few minutes about off season conditioning. We start our off season program on December 6th. I'm glad that we can get a jump on the competition.
Hugs and Kisses,
JoePa

Re: A good morning letter from JokePa!!!
The sad thing is, I think even PSU's offense could score on Pitt's defense, since they give up so much. So PSU would kick two field goals. Pitt's offense would not score on that defense. Penn State wins the worst game ever played: 6-0.
Be glad that hurricane hit, Titan. As bad as Pitt played at the beginning of the season, you wouldn't have beaten South Florida.

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.
