Hey Hollywood, if Pitt is horrible, what does that make WVU? Pitt is WVU's daddy!

You say it is a big IF that Pitt gets a BCS bid. What cave are you living in? Pitt is getting the BCS bid. Don't you get cable or the newspaper out there in NB? They must finish ahead of Syracuse in the BCS rankings. Even if they would lay an egg and lose to South Florida, they would still more than likely be ahead of the Cuse.

Now Hollywood, just be quiet and make your travel plans for the Continental Tire Bowl while my travel agent books me a flight to sunny Arizona.

I just found out something interesting. According to this article (see the link after my post), any conference with an automatic berth in the BCS is subject to review, and if the average ranking in the BCS standings isn't 12 or higher over a 4 year period, then that automatic berth may be lost. Miami's rankings (from the Big East) over the 3 years previous to this were 1,1, and 9. Pitt's ranking this year is 44. That averages out to 13.75. My guess is that they may give the Big East one more year to get it right, but if the winner next year is anything like this year, that automatic berth will go, and there will be 3 at large spots to be filled.

nationalchamps.net has Louisville playing the following out-of-conference powerhouses:

North Carolina

and

Kentucky

Well, Bunting will probably get fired even though UNC has improved somewhat. Brooks is apparently staying at UK and that is a mistake for Kentucky. Durant is graduating for UNC, and he's the best player on that team. The Kentucky quarterback is a one of the worst starters in I-A, so it looks like Louisville has an EXCELLENT shot of going undefeated, considering what they have returning. If they get some help from teams knocking off USC (new QB, losing on defense), Oklahoma (new QB, losing a lot), Miami (will lose 90% of team and still be the best team next season as always) we are looking at a potential national championship team in Louisville. It is not realistic to think that someone can run the SEC undefeated year in and year out. We might be looking at Louisville as the 2005 national champs. I think they'll keep their BCS bid. You will be pounded with Louisville, Louisville, Louisville all off season.

fleaflicker,
Pitt's BCS ranking at the present time is 23. The four year average is 8.5!

Holly and Titan,
I agree..back all of the BE teams..Goodluck to the Panthers, Eers, Huskies and Orange!

Maybe BC can arrange a bowl game with PSU. They certainly have had the Lions number the last two years!

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.
