Neshaminy 21, Easton 14

BENSALEM, Pa. (AP) — Andrew Flogel's 24-yard touchdown pass to Georg Coleman with 35 seconds to play allowed Neshaminy to post a 21-14 win over previously unbeaten Easton in the PIAA Class (AAAA) semifinals at Bensalem Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
The Redskins — who won the 2001 PIAA Class (AAAA) — will head to their second Class (AAAA) championship game in four years. They will play Pittsburgh Central Catholic, the Western champion who beat Bishop McDevitt 44-0 in the other semifinal on Saturday.
Neshaminy dominated the game statistically, rushing for 295 yards while holding Easton's rushing attack to 177. But they turned the ball over twice inside the Easton 15 when they had chances to put the game out of reach.
Penn State signee Kevin Kelly also missed three field goals of 37, 39 and 41 yards for Neshaminy.
The Red Rovers (13-1) managed to fight back. Zach Pizzaro busted free for a 33-yard TD run with 2:46 remaining in the fourth to tie the game at 14-14.
The Redskins (13-1) then moved the ball down the field for the game-winning score. Flogel ran the option for 24 yards to set up the TD pass to Coleman, who finished with 153 yards on 24 carries.
Easton had a chance at the end of the game. But Neshaminy linebacker Dominic Cundari picked off Easton quarterback Bernard Coon at the Neshaminy 2-yard line as time expired.

Grove City 21, Tyrone 17

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Dan Wise scored on a 10-yard run with 1:11 to play as Grove City beat Tyrone 21-17 in the PIAA Class (AA) semifinals on Saturday at Memorial Field.
Grove City (11-2) will be making its first appearance in the PIAA finals next Saturday against Lansdale Catholic, a 25-7 winner over and Littlestown on Saturday.
Tyrone (12-2) had a chance to score late in the game, but Adam Rudolph picked off a Leonard Wilson pass at the Grove City 27 with 28 seconds to play.
Tyrone had taken a 17-14 lead with five minutes to play on Wilson's 1-yard run. Wilson passed for 132 yards for Tyrone.
Grove City opened the scoring on Jack Vallely's 12-yard first-quarter run, but the extra point was blocked. Tyrone took the lead on Brice Mertiff's 51-yard touchdown run. He finished with 124 yards on 18 carries.
Grove City regained the lead with 1:30 left in the first half on Jim Jaskowak's 9-yard TD run. Jaskowak led the Eagles in rushing with 61 yards and threw for 109 yards.
The Golden Eagles, who were seeking their third trip to the PIAA championship since 1996, drew within 14-10 at halftime on Ben Gummo's 22-yard field goal as time expired.

Pittsburgh Central Catholic 44, Bishop McDevitt 0

ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) — Eugene Jarvis ran for three touchdowns to lead Pittsburgh Central Catholic to a 44-0 win over Bishop McDevitt in the PIAA Class (AAAA) semifinals on Saturday at Mansion Park Stadium.
The victory earns the Vikings (15-0) their second straight trip to a PIAA title game. Pittsburgh Central Catholic will play Neshaminy (13-1), which defeated Easton 21-14 on Friday.
Jarvis rushed for 83 yards on 12 carries and scored on runs of 1, 34 and 4 yards; all of his scores came in the first half.
Meanwhile, Central Catholic's defense dominated the Crusaders (10-3), holding them to 83 yards of total offense and shutting down highly touted running back LeSean McCoy. After running for 1,097 yards and 15 touchdowns in his last three games, he was held to 38 yards on 22 carries.
Central Catholic defensive tackle Stefen Wisniewski scored the first points of the game when he sacked Bishop McDevitt quarterback Jeremy Ricker in the end zone.
Tony Colaizzi returned an interception 65 yards for a touchdown with 14 seconds remaining in the first half to give the Vikings a 37-0 halftime lead.
