High School Boys Bishop McCort 65 Bishop Carroll 47
EBENSBURG - Shawn Lewis and Pete O'Connor scored 13 points apiece and Mike Sheridan added 12 as visiting Bishop McCort (2-1) defeated Bishop Carroll.
Joel Takacs had a game-high 17 points for Carroll (0-1). Jeff Minemyer added 14 points.
Westmont 69 Forest Hills 57
Westmont Hilltop got 19 points from Andrew Rudnik and a double-double from Mark Rossi (11 points, 10 rebounds) in a victory over Forest Hills.
Bruce Barger chipped in 13 points for the hosts.
Jeff Rolla led the Rangers with 18 points and teammate Dan Myers contributed 17.
Laurel Valley 69 Northern Cambria 48
NEW FLORENCE - Sophomore Shane Dickert had 24 points and 17 rebounds as Laurel Valley improved to 2-0 with a win over Northern Cambria.
John Bonatesta the Colts with 15 points. Teammates Chris Havrilla and Ken Younger added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Penn Cambria 77 Conemaugh Valley 62
CRESSON - Conemaugh Valley's Josh Lupek led all scorers with 29 points but it wasn't enough as Penn Cambria defeated the Blue Jays in a non-conference showdown.
Penn Cambria was spurred on by 18 points from Brandon Brady, 12 points from Matt Spangler, 11 from Allan Smith and 10 from Ryan Wetzel.
Robert Gunby had 13 points for the Blue Jays.
Homer-Center 50 Ligonier 38
HOMER CITY - Chris Sobota scored 16 points as Homer-Center defeated Ligonier Valley in the Heritage Conference.
Adam Belton led Ligonier with 11 points.
Windber 48 Richland 46
WINDBER - Dave Kitcho sank two last-second free throws for his only points of the night as Windber edged Richland to pick up its first win of the season.
Frank Rummel led the Ramblers (1-1) with 16 points. Eric Ahlers rattled in 22 points for the Rams in their season opener.
High School Girls Blacklick Valley 68 Ligonier Valley 33
NANTY GLO - Junior Whitney Warmus scored 24 points and teammate Tashia Caporuscio added 14 points as the Vikings downed Ligonier Valley for the second time in four days.
Allie Garber had 12 points for Blacklick Valley (2-1). Nicole Derk was the only Mounties player to reach double digits with 13 points.
Bedford 77 Tussey Mountain 35
BEDFORD - Junior Sarah Hocker had 22 points with four treys as the Lady Bisons trampled Tussey Mountain.
Katie Henderson was also instrumental in the win with 13 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Chrissey Leydig and Jackie Garlock also scored 10 points apiece for Bedford.
Amber Jo Donaldson led the Titans with 14 points.
Shanksville 53 Windber 50
SHANKSVILLE - The Lady Vikings were 9-of-14 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter as Shanksville held off Windber in the WestPAC opener for both squads.
Susie Kimmel paced Shanksville with 13 points and Meagan Maust added 10.
Michelle George (12 points) and Alecia Klonicke (10) provided the scoring punch for Windber.
College Men Millersville 62 Pitt-Johnstown 55
Pitt-Johnstown dropped to 4-5 on the season with a tough road loss at East Region power Millersville.
Pitt-Johnstown trailed 34-23 at the half and rallied to take 53-52 lead with 3:32 remaining before Millersville ended the game on a 10-2 run.
Steve Scorpion led the Mountain Cats with 10 points.
Waynesburg 104 Mount Aloysius 99
Mount Aloysius' Justin Ohler led all scorers with 32 points and all rebounders with 10 boards in a losing effort at Waynesburg College.
Deron Knox added 24 points, while Mounties teammate Roman Mims scored 15.
