HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL
Chestnut Ridge 59, McConnellsburg 45
NEW PARIS - Ben Way led the Lions with 22 points and Brian Barefoot added 21 in the victory over the visiting Spartans.
Russell Glazier had 14 points for McConnellsburg.
Barefoot is just 11 points shy of breaking the all-time scoring record for Chestnut Ridge.
Central Cambria 58 Windber 49
WINDBER - Central Cambria used a 21-7 third-quarter advantage and Augie Rodkey's 20 points to defeat Windber. Matt Mesaros had 13 for Central Cambria (3-1).
Frank Rummel had 21 points, including five 3-pointers, for Windber. Gary Puto had 12 points.
Conemaugh Twp. 76, Shade 49
DAVIDSVILLE - Andy Byer scored 32 points, and Ben Watkins added 16 as Conemaugh Township defeated Shade. Nathan Bates had 13 points for the Indians (2-1).
Brad Shutack and Ben Leonard each had 13 points for Shade (0-3). Tim Leighty had 11 points, and Kevin Kozlick had 10.
Portage 72, Meyersdale 49
MEYERSDALE - Randy Spaid scored 26 points, and Brian Adams and Matt Martella each had 13 as Portage defeated Meyersdale.
Adam Horning had 12 points to lead Meyersdale, and P.J. Lowrey added 11.
Ferndale 84 Turkeyfoot 64
Despite converting 23 of 42 free-throw opportunities to Fern-dale's 11 of 18, Turkeyfoot Valley suffered a setback at Ferndale.
Eric Blue had 23 points, Josh Langham 16 and Eric Rex a dozen to pace the Yellow Jackets.
Chris Harbaugh's 19 topped the visitors, who got 18 from Nathan Glass and 12 by Tim Wass.
Blacklick 66, Salisbury 48
SALISBURY - Brad Weimer scored 17 points, and Brad Mosley added 13 as Blacklick Valley defeated Salisbury-Elk Lick.
Aaron Beiler scored 17 points, and Mike Podlesnik had 16 for Salisbury.

MARION CENTER - Alicia Glasser's 15 points led Marion Center.
Heidi Hollingsworth and Deanna Solich topped the Rams with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Brittany Hall added 10.
Westmont 75, Central 44
Kelly Britcher scored 18 points, Katie Lintner and Ali Buchan each had 12, and Kaitlin Urban added 11 as Westmont Hilltop (4-0, 2-0) defeated Central in the LHAC.
Heidi Hinton led Central (1-2, 0-1) with 12 points.
Northern Cambria 70, Ligonier Valley 19
NORTHERN CAMBRIA - The Colts outscored the Mounties 48-6 in the first half with scoring from Lindsey McCombie (21) and Jess Valeria (20).
Ligonier Valley did not have any players in double digits.
Blacklick 57, Shanksville 45
NANTY GLO - Whitney Warmus scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Blacklick over Shanksville.
Allie Garver added 12 points for the Vikings. Megan Maust and Emma Berkey scored a dozen each for the visitors.
Westmont's Urban signs with Bloomsburg
Westmont Hilltop High School senior girls basketball player Kaitlin Urban recently signed a letter of intent to play at Bloomsburg University.
A four-year varsity player and three-year starter for the District 6-AA champion Hilltoppers, Urban will play for the NCAA Division II Huskies under coach Monica Starrett in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
A point guard, Urban also started four years for the Johnstown Lady Hoopsters AAU traveling club and appeared in numerous AAU tournaments.
In addition to basketball, she participates in track and cross country. She is a three-time state medalist in the 800, finishing second, third and fourth.
Urban, who also will compete in track at Bloomsburg, has earned 10 varsity letters.
She is the daughter of Michael and Paula Urban of Westmont.
College MEN'S BASKETBALL Ohler honored for play at Mount Aloysius
CRESSON - Mount Aloysius men's basketball player Justin Ohler has been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week.
The North Star High School graduate is the first Mount Aloysius male athlete to earn the honor.
Ohler leads the AMCC in rebounding (10.7 a game) and is second in scoring (22.3 points a game). Last week he averaged 27.5 points and 13 rebounds as Mount Aloysius split a pair of games.
Eisentrout leads late Cal rallies
CALIFORNIA - Berlin graduate Travis Eisentrout hit game-winning 3-point field goals in the final minute of a pair of California University victories last week.
Cal stunned 11th-ranked Salem International 67-62, erasing an 11-point deficit on Dec. 8.
The shooting guard drilled a 3-pointer to cap a 76-73 overtime win over West Virginia Tech on Dec. 11. California entered this week at 5-3.

McCort grad named ACHA Goalie of the Month
Bishop McCort High School graduate Anthony Feyock, a sophomore at the University of Rhode Island, was named American Collegiate Hockey Association Division I Goalie of the Month of November.
Feyock led the Rams to a 4-1-1 record, including two shutouts in November. He had a win and a tie over previously No. 1-ranked Penn State to help Rhode Island achieve its first No. 1 ranking in the program's history.
He had a .951 save percentage and a 1.32 goals against average during the month.
Overall, Feyock was 10-1-1 with a .932 save percentage and 1.53 GAA and five shutouts. Last season he was ACHA Division I Rookie of the Year.

Altoona Curve to hold open house
The Altoona Curve will hold its second Curve Open House on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Blair County Ballpark.
The event will feature guided tours of the ballpark and other activities. Curve mascots Steamer and Diesel Dawg will join Santa Claus at the park.
Admission if free, with a donation of a new and unwrapped toy to benefit Toys for Tots, or donations of canned or boxed food items for Sister Paula's Soup Kitchen.
