I saw the Pitt program for the BC game. In it was a picture of Walt with his WIFE AND CHILD. When was this program put to bed? Sometime this past summer. He must be a fast mover!!

Either something will break on the news about Harris and it was hushed up or the AD dept. at Pitt are the biggest bunch of morons in College Football. There was an uproar over Willingham but not about Harris. Pitt as much as said leave or we'll fire you either this year or next.

In five years Pitt will be sucking hind tit again in College football with Temple and ECU!

With 2 years remaining in his contract, I don't think Pitt would have fired him. Without the contract extension Harris wanted, they made it hard for him to stay. If Stanford had not been in the mix, I'll bet he would have been Pitt's coach next year. By the way, if you had been the owner of Chrysler Corp, would you have kept Lee Iacocca if he had been doing things that might have tarnished the reputation of your company, no matter how good a CEO he was?

Walt Harris could read the writing on the wall. Pitt had all season to extend his contract. If you remember the events leading up to his eventual hiring at Stanford, he interviewed for the Cardinal one day, met with Pitt the next (a great time to make a play to keep him if Pitt was so inclined). We all know what happened after that.

If we can can sit around here and discuss whether or not he's been cheating on his wife or fiance or whatever, it certainly isn't that much of a stretch to think that maybe Jeff Long just didn't like ol' Walt.

Long's still looking to make his first big move as AD an make this his program. Here's his opportunity to get his own guy in.

P.S. I could have sworn I read he was engaged somewhere. That said, I've been wrong before. I apologize for passing on information I haven't double checked.

Did you know... that the College Football Hall of Fame recognizes Pitt as having won THREE national championships?

Hardcorefan, someone else said Harris has a wife and kid, so you really didn't mess anything up. There are people who definitely saw Harris with that coach on his arm at basketball games though, so it doesn't look like they were making it too much of a secret. Harris has been acting shady all year. He would have left Pitt either way, in my own opinion.

It's going to get very interesting now with Pitt. Wanny pulled out, which is a blessing in disguise. I wish Pitt would have went after Solich, but a bad pick up wouldn't be Gary Crowton from La Tech / BYU.

The truth behind the "SCANDAL." Perhaps this is the woman Mr. Harris has been seen around town with...

"Harris, whose divorce was recently made final, has at least one reason to truly be happy - he was apparently recently engaged. He was introduced at the news conference along with his fiancee Barb Stern.

Stern, however, applied Harris's approach to Pitt questions when asked when they got engaged.

"I'm not in the question answering business," she said politely with a smile."

Here's the link... its at the very bottom.

True... in the movie of the week they'll probably cast a cheerleader.

The Altoona Mirror has a good article about the Pitt situation. Seems that Long is literally going hire "his guy". The remaining two public outside candidates are long time friends of Long's. The good ole boy network.
