Pretty good one, Flick, if I say so myself.

okay now what the heck...I know some of our fans can get a little rowdy but what is up with people saying about us not being in District 5 because of that.
And also, the boys basketball team does not open the doors to the cafeteria for games anymore unless they have a tournament. The girls do open them for their games though. In my opinion, its pretty cool how we can do that, we have seating the whole way around the court then, but then again I know some of you think its stupid how we have our stage and then the cafeteria included in our gym area. I'd love to have a new gym, but we have to face it that it won't be happening, so we go with what we have and for now its pretty cool.

Sounds to me like FM HS was built back in the 50s. If so figure out the return on that investment!

If you want to know the truth, some of us are probably jealous. Any criticism of the gym was mainly being sarcastic. Having fans completely surround the court is neat and gives an intimacy and an edge to the home team. If I was the boys varsity coach, I'd open up the other wall all the time and make sure it was crammed with students. Then I'd zone trap the hell out of teams. It promotes fan enthusiam and gets them right in the game. As far as the small gym, my God, most of the great shooters I've seen on local basketball scene played in small gyms in their heyday. It makes for a fast-paced, high-scoring, and thoroughly unpleasant place to play for the opponents. If I were a FM fan, I'd hope they'd never replace that gym. Sometimes bigger is not better. Now there -- I've just given a whole bunch of compliments to FM.
