you might be surprised, any team is capable of beating the other this year i'm not talking a sixteen beating a one for the first time in tourny history, but pitt can beat anybody but at the same time get beat by anybody as well pretty much.

First of all, if you read my post, I said the brackets have not been kind to Pitt the last 2 years, which would not include the year they lost to Kent St. Pitt should have made the final 4 that year.
You can't tell me that Pitt didn't get a raw deal in the brackets last year. They had to go to Wisconsin to play Wisconsin even though they were the higher seed? Ok. St. was as good as any team in the country last year. There were probably 10-15 schools that could have won the tournament last year. UConn won and deservedly so. You're right, they got an easy bracket based on winning he Big East title. But I still don't see how Pitt and UConn can be just about even all season and Pitt falls to a 3 seed by losing the conferenece championship.
As far as this year goes, I think it's still a longshot for the Panthers to make the final 4. I certainly hope they do, but they can't let up for any games (which is not something they have shown they can do just yet).

my apologies for the oversight of your post's exact meaning, OAR.
pitt did have a tough bracket, but they did deserve a 3 seed. they got a tough draw but would have had to beat a team just as good as ok st. to get very far anyway. the selection committee may have been penalizing pitt for having a feeble non conference scheduele too.
as for this year, judging pitt after their best 2 games of the year would not be completely objective. you will get a true feel for them when they play upstart teams like villanova or ND on the road.
