W.P.I.A.L Boys Basketball Playoff Picture

With one week left in the high school basketball regular season, here is an update on the WPIAL boys basketball playoff picture through Monday, January 31st.
Every WPIAL boys playoff basketball game can be heard beginning with the Playoff Pairings Show on Tuesday, February 8th ONLY here at msasports.net
Class (AAAA) - SECTION 1:
Albert Gallatin Colonials (9-3) clinched
Uniontown Red Raiders (8-4) clinched
Latrobe Wildcats (8-4) clinched
Albert Gallatin can clinch a share of the section title with one more win and can win the section outright with a pair of victories
Norwin (7-5) has a one game lead over Connellsville (6-6) in the battle for fourth place
Norwin is at Connellsville on 2/1 and home to Penn-Trafford on 2/4.....Connellsville is home to Norwin on 2/1 and at Hempfield on 2/4
A tie between the Knights and Falcons would put both in the playoffs
Class (AAAA) - SECTION 2:
McKeesport Tigers (11-1) clinched
Baldwin Highlanders (10-2) clinched
Penn Hills Indians (8-4) clinched
Pittsburgh Central Catholic Vikings (8-4) clinched
A McKeesport win at Woodland Hills on 2/1 would give the Tigers a share of the section title
Baldwin needs to beat Franklin Regional at home on 2/1 and win at mcKeesport on 2/4 to gain a share of the section crown.

Waynesburg (7-5) has a one game lead over Keystone Oaks (6-6 in the fight for fourth place. Waynesburg is home to Thomas Jefferson on 2/1 and at McGuffey on 2/4.....Keystone Oaks is at Steel Valley on 2/1 and home to South Park on 2/4
If the Raiders and Golden Eagles tie for the final playoff spot, both teams would clinch

West Shamokin (8-4) has a one game lead over Burrell (7-5) in the fight for third place, however Burrell needs to win twice and have West Shamokin lose twice since the Bucs lost to the Wolves twice this season
