Girls Basketball highlights of last nights wars !!!
BASKETBALL High School Girls Ferndale 50, Blacklick Valley 34
NANTY GLO - Sarah McAteer led the visiting Yellow Jackets with 20 points and Ali Russell added 14 for Ferndale.
Junior Whitney Warmus, now 26 points short of 1,000 career, scored 11 for the Vikings.
North Star 51, Shade 33
BOSWELL - Brittany Danel scored 15 points and Kelly Miller and Nicole Pelesky each had 10 as North Star defeated visiting Shade.
Bedford 64, Central Cambria 55
BEDFORD - Katie Henderson led the 12-8 Bisons with 17 points.
Krista Sossong scored a game-high 23 points to top Central Cambria's scoring.
Berlin 45, Salisbury-Elk Lick 32
BERLIN - Ella Meese and Brittany Pryde each scored 10 points for Berlin in a win over Salisbury-Elk Lick.
Pryde added 10 rebounds and Meese had seven assists for the Mountaineers. Sue Kolb led the Elks with 17 points and Lindsey Otto added 11.
United 51, Laurel Valley 35
NEW FLORENCE - Jessica Bloom scored 14 points and had five steals and Courtney Coleman had 12 points and seven rebounds as United defeated Laurel Valley.
Jamie Henry had 10 points for United. Deanna Solich led Laurel Valley with 11 points.
Northern Cambria 65 Purchase Line 52
COMMODORE - Lindsey McCombie led the Colts with 20 points, Jaci Jones scored 18 and Jess Valeria added 11 in a victory at Purchase Line.
Kayla Rorabaugh scored a game-high 21 points and Megan Strubel added 14 for the Red Dragons.
Windber 49, Portage 45
PORTAGE - Windber's Michelle George led all scorers with 19 points in a narrow victory at Portage.
Alecia Klonicke added 11 points for the Ramblers while Sara Burda topped the Mustangs with 15 points and Emily Golden added 10.
High School Boys Chestnut Ridge 49 Southern Fulton 44
NEW PARIS - Brian Barefoot scored 23 points and Chestnut Ridge held off a strong Southern Fulton comeback in a Lions win.
Ridge entered the fourth quarter leading by 15 but Southern Fulton posted a 21-11 scoring advantage in the final eight minutes.
Johnstown Christian 61 Blair County Christian 40
DUNCANSVILLE - Tyler Todd led Johnstown Christian with 15 points, Mike Rezac scored 12 and Mitch Ott added 10 in a road victory.
Travis Weyandt scored a game-high 19 points for Blair County Christian.

College Women Pitt-Johnstown 78 Alderson-Broaddus 52
PHILIPPI, W.Va. - Senior forward Melissa Patterson scored 24 points and sophomore Jessica Zapf had 16 points and 11 rebounds as Pitt-Johnstown defeated Alderson-Broaddus on the road.
The Lady Cats rebounded from a tough loss Monday to Davis & Elkins and improved to 15-5. Patterson passed the 1,000-point mark in Monday's loss and pushed her career total to 1,026 on Tuesday, sixth on UPJ's all-time list.
Zapf had her seventh double-double of the season, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 2-of-3 on the line. Junior Samantha Conner had 10 points and sophomore Jami Oaks had eight points off the bench.
Allison Krischer had nine assists and seven points and Sarah Priest had five rebounds.
UPJ shot 53.3 percent from the field while holding the Battlers to 37.3 percent.
The Lady Cats had a 42-22 rebounding advantage.
