That puts a different light on things,oldgranddaddypappyman. I'm glad the Stampede behavior was misrepresented. I still go by my initial point that some members (perhaps only a few) simply want to churn things up and have interests secondary to inspiring their teams. Of course, having college student sections as "role models" is not good. A lot of TV coverage of college games with overzealous student sections avoids shots of the groups and cuts the volume when the cursing chants start.

The Stampede is an example of school spirit. Call them out of hand or positive they still are students who are taking an interest in their fellow classmates performances on the field or court. Many of the games I attend at visiting schools are merely attended by parents and a few students. However, when there is a game at home in Bedford or even away there is a number of students there to cheer on their classmates. I for one think this is a great statement for the school spirit of Bedford. Perhaps, in the other schools, it has been so long that their student body showed any spirit they cannot recognize it anymore.
Granted there are some who are a little over zealous in their display of team spirit. But, corrrect them don't eject them. If you are one of the ones that cause these problems for others I commend your spirit and hope you learn to control your behavior during the heat of the game. But, by all means do not let the acts of a few administrators or offials curb your enthusiasm.
Don't be crass or embarassing to yourself or your fellow students.
By all means, yell and chant, clap and stomp for your team. Keep up the good work.

I thought it was foghorn, that was a long time ago considering my father hadn't been officiating for the better part of a decade now. It's amazing I even remember him telling me about that.
I am in now way downtalking what the stampede does, it's just that a few individuals, IMO, try to take away what the players are trying to do on the court to gain attention to themselves. I love the Stampede as I was one of the members for a while during my junior year, it does help to have nice support at away games and it does have a direct effect on the play of Bedford. I was not at the game so I have no ground to speak on the poor officiating, but Troy did say they were exceptionally bad and he rarely complains about officiating.
Hopefully Bedford can reverse this little curse that they have been going through here as of late and get ready to make a playoff run down the road, because only beating a struggling Windber team by 4 is not impressive. They travel to Central Friday and then to Ridge Saturday. Two games in which Bedford should handle rather easily. I'll be interested as to how they bounce back off a tough loss to a Conference foe. If that is the case I'm glad that CC is doing the right thing, the next course of action would be turning in the official to the PIAA for not having tough skin in a tough skin needed environment. Seriously, should anybody with this little resolve and confidence be allowed to go under pressure every night when officiating a game? I guess telling them the same thing they have heard throughout thier careers in a chanting form is just to much and he lost it. lol.
