throw really hard at a 45 degree angle...that's all i got

Actually it's more like 33 degrees. There are lots of website about throwing the javelin out there. Do a search and start reading.

You can also get one of those black rubber resistance bands and tie one end to a doorknob on a closed (and for safety's sake, LOCKED) door. Grab the other end in you throwing hand and go through your throwing motion, then bring your arm back to the starting position slowly, letting the resistance of the band work the muscles in your arm.
I also know there's this little contraption you can buy called the Javee. It kind of looks like a relay baton with a bungee cord attached to it. If memory serves from watching the Jav kids at practices, its basically like the exercise I said about above. Also, there's another little think that kind of looks like one of those old school Lawn Darts. Its weighted and you can just throw it.
