Re: College Soccer
I'm not sure who you are, but college soccer is a very large commitment. You would practice a lot of your free time. If you think you have the talent and drive, go for it and more power to you, but if you'd rather just go out and have fun, stick with intramurals.

Re: College Soccer
I agree with the Gold 1.
College soccer is very time and energy-consuming. Personally, I train about 8-9 times throughout the week (and it's only the off-season), and I've found that I must be rather resourceful in order to find time to complete all the homework that college offers. College soccer can be a rewarding experience-- if you're honestly serious and determined to succeed in both the sport and academics. If not, I would strongly recommend the intramural route, as it will be entertaining without becoming a serious commitment.

I'm sure that Waterfilter wouldn't mind me saying that she's at Youngstown State. And I agree with her completely. Playing college soccer is a big commitment, even at the D3 level where I'm playing. We aren't required to train during the off season, but our team plays in indoor tournaments all winter, we all play intramurals, and whenever there is an open spot in the gym, we're always down there playing a pick up game. I found that I could easily find enough time to fit my school work in (heck, I managed a 3.65 GPA and made the Dean's List), but soccer is still very time consuming. Either two or three games a week, practice every day but Sunday for 2-3 hours a day, plus travel time....soccer is a big part of my day. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Going from starting on a high school soccer team that won 12 games total during my career to being a starter on a college team that has already beat that out and made it to the conference semis.......I couldn't have asked for anything else.
