Jeff Koontz might have been a good choice for 215.

Yeah Right!!! Jim Clark!!! 3 wins away from 300 for his career!!! and plenty of State qualifiers and place winners but the one thing that Eludes him is a state title for a wrestler the best finisher he had was Josh Weyant 3rd place!!!

The book says play for the tie, and if you lose in OT it's bad luck.
But play for the victory in regulation and lose? You're a bad coach

Great list guys. I agree with FHWrestlingcoach that you would need about 10 honorable mention lists. It's tough to be unbiased towards your era of wrestling that you witnessed. I forgot about Josh Weyandt of CR placing 3rd-certainly one of Ridge's best. Also good point about not just using state place winners as criteria for greatness. I think back in the day that they only took the regional champ to states and level of competition plays a role in this too.
As far as all time coaches for D5, you have quite a few good ones. Ed Clark and Bill Creps are in the hall of fame. I think the "class act" of all time in D5 is Rod Hoover from NBC. Denny Lehman from NS would be another top pick, the stability of Jim Droz at Everett, and Jim Clark(son of Ed) will get to the hall of fame when he gets his 300th win! I also had great admiration for Rick Lorson of Berlin, what he did for that program for what they usually have is phenonomial!
Question? Has there every been a father - son be inducted to the Pa wrestling hall of fame? This might be first with the Clark family!

I think that the Creps family will find away for Brian to beat Jim Clark there. On a serious note don't forget about Dave Imler from CR early 80's 3 time North West Regional Champ.

i was really surprised watching the AA andAAA finals how many wrestlers came from schools that have never had a state champion.that made me appreciate the strayers, sheftics, clarks, etc. from this area. this made me curious and i would appreciate an answer to this question, has anyone from ridge or everett ever won a state title
