Re: Old enough to know better
Never said to set aside all murders. I really don't see the point in arguing with a teenager who hasn't accomplished much yet or even experienced much yet. You can twist my words around any way you like it makes no difference to me. It doesn't stregthen your view or diminish mine its just childish and unimagnative.
I do appreciate your zeal for your views and how you attempt to justify them.
"Kill all the Jews"....typical libera statement. If you can't prove your point call the other guy a racist or a facsist. Been accused of that plenty of time on here. Try something orginal for a change. Oh that's right there are know original liberal ideas anymore! Its retro 1960's garbage being recycled for a "new" generation of complete losers.

This argument is officially over. Southpaw pulled the "age" card, the last corner for a coward to hide in.
Oh that's right, with age comes infinite wisdom. Pretty hilarious how you old geezers have been getting the crap kicked out of you lately by 18 year olds on this message board.
Love hurts.

Its okay to call people racist but not to imply that with age comes wisdom by learning from expericences.
Methinks the youngsters are letting us "old geezers" under their skin too much that they have to resort to name calling. But that's liberalism. If someone disagrees with you label'em.
Its sad that all of your God given ability will be wasted on hopeless and meaningless causes. Why don't join LP and I on the winning side? The side of truth, reason, and common sense.
I'm not that old...last week I got carded when trying to buy tobacco!

Curious as to what punishment this thread thinks the former BG Boys basketball coach and former Claysburgh Boys basketball coach should face seeing how both have plead guilty? The BG coach is going to have a hearing in mid April to determine if he his a sexual predator. I think he will be determined to be a sexual predator. The Claysburgh coach will not be labeled a sexual predator.
For the record, I am for capital punishment in extreme and horrific crimes against society. I lean to be against the death penalty for juvenilles.

i used to be a liberal. i thought that people killed and robbed eachother because they were poor and if we (usa) could just aleviate their poverty.then crime would decrease signifigantly.but not true.people are poor beacause they rob and kill.and have many other nasty habits that interfere with a person having a productive life.

And I am not liberal, which was getting to me. I told people here several times not to call me liberal, as I am not, yet people continue to do so. If you want to blame me for starting the name calling, please don't as it wasn't me. Oh, and by the way, I am a member of the LP. I am on the side of truth, reason and common sense. It's called the Libertarian Party.

DCP, haven't you heard? If you're not a right wing conservative, then you are a liberal. There is no room in this world for a gray area. It's all black and white. You're either with them or against them. You can't possibly have a conservative opinion about one topic and liberal opinion on another. And you certainly can't be in the middle of any topic because there is no middle!! Welcome to the world or Labels.

Re: Old enough to know better
Lemmy brings up a good point. Should capital punishment be levied against all molesters? No of course not. Just as all murders aren't put to death all molesters shouldn't be put to death. I guess my blood was up about the Lunsford girl's case and didn't clarify my overzealous postion. That's why we have a court system to mediate punishment. The Death Penalty should be an option for the jury those that are truly "sexual predators". Thank Lemmy for the insight.
I guess being called a liberal equated to being called a racist. Political Correctness....another liberal quality!
BTW...What do Libertarians stand for anyway? Sounds like anarchy to me.
OAR...your not being fair. I have rather liberals views on several issues. Education, Environment, and Trade. Am I now a liberal?

Re: Old enough to know better
The problem with Libertarianism isn't "anarchy", but a good uneducated and totally ignorant guess, southpaw. Libertarians want limited gov't and so do I. But they seem to think that people will passively just get along with eachother if they have their way. Although I am a registered Libertarian, we got some fights to hash out between us. I think if you give men enough room they'll rape every girl in sight. I think human beings are barbarians by nature, i wrote an entire paper for a Political theory class about how Wal-Mart is anarchy in the aisles, to support my theory. don't get me wrong, if you break into my house I'm gonna blow your head off either way, regardless of who is running show, but with the current system (however pot-holed) I don't need to strap a shotgun to my back whereas i would with a Libertarian government. Sorry that was so morbid.

I think TAE should minor in philosophy. More specifically one philosopher...Freddy Nietzsche! I now know why you have such a hang up with religion and El-Moldo pious opines. You have a god-complex don't ya? lol.
Your right about liberatarians being to idealistic human nature being good. The problem with a libertarian form of gov't is who will protect the citizenry from a hostile neighboring country? Throughout history the world has had a central power base that clubs everyone either into submission or oblivion.
We currently are carrying the club but don't use it.
