i dont know about anyone else but im sick of people just taking about speed. who cares about speed if they cant play. wut happened w/ jim kanuch???? he sat on the bench and got kicked of special teams. last time i checked football and track are totally different. i believe jerry rice ran a 4.5-4.6 40, and mike williams ran a 4.6 40 so who really cares. football players are football players

There is such a thing as "football speed". Running real fast in a straight line is one thing, but.....

username6??

What was the score in the Westmont vs. Johnstown game last year. I guess football speed kept WHO in the game last year?

PSUdawg you need not hide behind your screen name, what did you ever accomplish in your life beside try to drag some one down. You need to get a life and not be jealous of people.

username6 you sound intelligent half the time are you a coach or recruiting coordinator for a team or what? You seem to know so much about football except for the speed part.

Gunner18 a what stupid thing to say" take away Kanuch's blockers and then we will see how he does." Take away all blockers for all running backs and what do you have? You can't be that jealous of the kanuch kid to just take away his blockers. Maybe you are that jealous!

You guys need to get a life or maybe its that old Johnstown mentality thing that you just can't stand when other people do well.

I agree completly with the whole football speed and track speed, but I want to point out that if a player is athletic enough, very easily with a good coach can track speed be turned into football speed.

On a different note I have to disagree that Kanuch does not have football speed. I say he does. He may not look as fast as Larod on the field, but he is moving every bit the same speed. Becasue in actuality if you watched them run on the track...HE STILL DOESN'T LOOK AS FAST AS LAROD...but he is moving faster. This is because Larod has a better "Quick shift" than kanuch, basically meaning in speed terms that Larods legs are moving at a faster pace and that he probably takes more steps than kanuch does when the 2 are runnning in the same distance. So on the field it is always going to look as if Larod is light years faster, because his legs are moving so fast. I remember seeing kanuch run down Hawkins from the back his sophmore year, and also remember seeing him run down Larod and lewis this season.

Nothing anyone says on this board means a thing when it comes to recruiting. All the experts on here should be on a college staff somewhere as recruiting coordinator. There is obviously a ton of player evaluation skills on this board, it is just being wasted on a message board.

I am glad Kanuch will choose a school other than PSU. That will eliminate the argument that "he is only D1 because his uncle coaches at PSU."Congrats Brad. Good Luck in your college choice. It is nice having options!

FYI: Maryland offered Kanuch on Thursday. They are recruiting him as a WR/PR/KR. The list now includeds Maryland, Boston College, Eastern Michigan, Akron, and Toledo. I am sure more will follow.
