A lot of people make that same mistake. I just happened to watch both of those games. (OK--I'm old)
Believe it or not, the immaculate reception game was blacked out like a lot of Steeler games in 1972. Fortunately, our relatively new cable package included WGAL out of Lancaster which always aired the Steelers especially if Johnstown didn't carry them.
Another hard to believe fact----even though the Miami Dolphins were undefeated that year, the AFC championship game was played in Pittsburgh. If I recall, it was on a rotating basis in those days.
It was the Dolphin game that had me real excited about what was brewing in Pittsburgh. I think even they'd admit they were very lucky to win that game. Bradshaw didn't play the second and third quarters ( due to injury) and it was a fake punt by the Dolphins that was run inside the Steeler ten yard line that was the key play of the game.
