How can you say that the NBC invitational is going to be bigger than West Central? That meet is an ALL day thing and is held at, what is my opinion, a better venue than even Shippensburg. Give it a couple years and then we'll see, but as for now...there's no comparison.

berlin, you so smart, your wisdom just mirrors your incredible beauty.....but yea i agree, no invitational short of states...including nbc's....can compare to the WCC meet, when you have an invitational starting at noon and not ending till well after 11:00pm on some occasions, thats a big meet! and that meet is run very VERY smoothly, yes theres a problem here or there, but compared to any invitational ive been too...including the ship invite, WCC's is the best.

and southpaw i could be wrong with this but im almost positive only the top 6 will be awarded points 10-8-6-4-2-1 i think is how it goes. unless they plan on running 8 people in 6 lanes...

They are only running the top two from each team with not that many teams entered. essentially there will be about as many people running at a regular double dual meet. wont take long at all. and no, nowhere near WCC.

agree chick this will not compete to wcc's i was in it all 4 years in 1t least 3 events every year and i always had at least 2.5 to 3 hours between events!!!! it was so nice that was my favorite meet!!!
lol

nbc invite will come close...... in a few years but west central has both AA and AAA and around 70 or so teams total plus you have boys and girls so about twice that.

this is the first year for the meet so don't expect too much but it should be interesting to see or better to compete in!!!

I was at the West Central meet for my last two years, and it was amazing how many athletes competed there, and the caliber of competition there was. In the 3200 run, the winning time was 9:20, and the two guys that topped the 3200 there also did at states. In the 100, the top athletes ran in the high 10s. In the 200, they ran in the 22s. I mean, there were some pretty elite high school athletes there. It was pretty amazing to watch and to cheer for some of my teammates, which helped make up for getting blown away in my event. lol

duece bigalow, im interested to know how you competed in AT LEAST 3 events every year...did you compette in MORE than 3 events? thats interesting, especially when PIAA limits the number events one athelete can participate in per meet to 3 events, and i know Mr Fry (the head PIAA official of the WCC meet) would not allow competitors to compete in more than 3 events...please share with us how you did AT LEAST 3 every year

Gunner....I think you mean 4 events. I competed in 4 events every track meet. So unless I bypassed all the PIAA rules I think you meant to say 4 events or you are just forgetting your facts. Especially since you were the "best" stats man of all time....Right?

By the way....I'm just giving you a hard time.

By the way gunner. I also competed in 4 events one year at states. I wonder how I pulled that one out, those PIAA officials are so stupid sometimes.

haha gunner i was in 4 events in my sophmore and junior seasons but wanted to concentrate more on the 1600m run my senior year!

i placed 10th that year with isacc curry of tussy mountain in 9th.

but anyways 4 events is the limit though they are thinking about changing it but right now it is just talk so don't take it to heart of them changing the rules!
