Draft Coverage while I'm at home
SAN FRANCISCO: ALEX SMITH--
Just let me first say that Mel Kiper is an over-bearing idiot who knows very little about college football. I find it very hard to believe Mel Kiper even knew who Ronnie Brown was before last season.
They drafted Alex Smth, and it seems like they were hell bent on drafting a quarterback. I do think this is a bad move by San Francisco, and I think the media really, really over-hyped Alex Smith. Mel Kiper has continually said that Alex Smith is the smartest player to ever come out of college. That's absurd, my friend. They are also talking about his record. 21-1 as a starter. Apparently San Francisco forgot about Ken Dorsey's record, and Dorsey did it against good teams. At some point that has to be taken into consideration. I liked Urban Meyer a lot at Utah, he has the best offensive system in the country, but let's be honest here, peeps... Utah plays in the Mountain West. And I know it still takes athletes to win those games, but understand that when you are a good team in a bad conference, it makes you look even better. And add that to the fact that there are very few good college football teams west of Norman. There is a plethora of talent in California, where Meyer drew from. Utah is finished, and Alex Smith, however good, is very over-rated.
MIAMI DOLPHINS: RONNIE BROWN--
I'm sorry to be a Negative Nancy already, but there's no excuse for this pick. Cedric Benson is the best player in this draft, let alone running back. Ronnie Brown is good, don't get me wrong, but Benson has proven himself for 4 years. Texas produces excellent running backs in Austin. If you need a quick fix, draft a guy with established credibility. Or use free-agency, which I am starting tot hink is a better choice than the draft. This is another mistake by this franchise, who is going to really pay for their enormous blunder of not only hiring the most over-rated coach of my generation, but they made him head of operations.

CLEVELAND BROWNS: BRAYLON EDWARDS--
Better than Mike Williams? Edwards is a very solid player who will start this season because Cleveland has no receivers. There's a lot of young players on that team that are going to be fantastic. But the problem is, it doesn't matter who are the receivers, you gotta get them the football. I'm anxious to see what Cleveland does for a QB either in the draft or else FA. Edwards is very good, but as they just said, he does drop passes. But I guess when you have this much talent, and you know he's going to play immediately, he'll be fine. It's not like he's a quarterback. Good pick up but I would have taken Williams as the #1 receiver.
