I guess it is better to have played and choked then to have not played at all.

PSU just plain stinks! They are a women's basketball school and now they stink at that too. What's next?

4 down years and they are terrible for forever now? What about Pitt from the 80' and 90's, I guess we are too quick to forget...

Like Janet Jackson said, "What have you done for me lately?"

It's funny how PSU fans would get on Pitt fans for bringing up the past when talking about football. Admittedly so, that was all we P;anther fans had to talk about during the late 80's and most of the 90's. But now here we are with the shoe on the other foot, and the Nitters want to bring up the past.

So which is it going to be?

Technically that is wrong, they did win one Big Ten title.

ON THE OTHER HAND... with the two best teams GONE from the conference, Pitt still could only have a 4 way tie for the Big East title. But Dave Wannstadt will change all that, and as you idiots have already said, getting new uniforms definitely means you are now a better football team. Espcially when nothing changed on the uniforms, except a helmet decal and a change in a "P" word across the front of the jerseys. I can't wait until Tyler Palko's stock plummets this season because WannSPLAT wants to run the ball with some imaginary running back who is incredible, whenever he has Palko (the best PA D-1A QB since Marino) in his backfield.

Whatchootalknbout? They have L-ROD, next year's frosh Heisman frontrunner. He will make Palko look as good as any QB!

Playing for Wannstadt will raise Palko's stock. Under Walt Harris, Pitt NEVER had a running game. Therefore, defenses would pin back their ears and bull rush the quarterback. Every opponent knew Palko was throwing on almost every down but he still put up pretty good numbers. Now fast forward to the next two seasons. Coach W. will definitely demand that Pitt runs the football with success. This will open up many passing options for Palko. The "play-action" pass will actually work this season. Imagine the safety having to come up in run support and Palko throwing against one-on-one coverage.

This style of offense will better prepare Palko for an NFL career. This will be a pro-style offense run by an NFL coordinator.

Good points, but... once again, who is this running back that Pitt has hidden in the shadows? If you have a great QB, use him. I don't think playing for Wannstadt will raise his stock, I think it will actually hurt his last two seasons, but he will obviously pick up some NFL stuff as you have said. It just doesn't make sense to have that good of a QB and commit yourself to a running offense, like Wannstadt said he wants.
