Greatest USC qb ever?

Post by DeBiceps »

Last night, i was watching Sportscenter and they did a little "All Access" type segment with Matt Leinart, and after it was over a comparison of stats between the Lien-heart and Carson Palmer was shown. The anchor then said, "Carson Palmer is the greatest qb of the post-Sean Salisbury era, but you'd have to think after this season Leinart will pass him in that regard" Or something to that effect. Now, the Sean Salisbury comment was a good chuckle, but the statement that Lienart can surpass Palmer is beyond stupid.

For the stats shown, Palmers record was something like 27-18, and he had 69 or so TD passes. Leinart's W/L record is 25-1 with 2 more TD's than Palmer in 19 less starts. Not to mention, Leinart has 2 national titles to Palmer's zero. They both won one Heisman Trophy, with Leinart being the odds on favorite for a repeat.

Now, as of right now, you tell me who the better qb is. The only way Leinart can graduate USC with any controversy surrounding who is the greatest qb the Trojans have ever had, he will have to lose at least 17 of the 12 games he will play this year, throw for negative 3 touchdowns, and USC will have to be found guilty of some over the top controversy which strips them of their back to back national titles.

Sheesh..

I love it. The media is trying so hard to make Palmer credible, and the numbers do not lie, especially at USC. Palmer did nothing for 3.5 years.
