That is my friend is a wholly inaccurate example. The gay rally isn't taking it upon themselves to keep the white supremicists from invading the Gay Kingdom. The law is involved here. They took it upon themselves to deliver justice, whether that being violent or to prove a point. That, my friend, is vigilantism. Nice try though, LP. I applaud your newest futile effort.

Just like many didn't understand the term "illegal", they're now struggling with the term "justice". Justice consists of giving every man what he deserves; a deserved reward or punishment. The minutemen DID NOT administer justice to anyone, not like in the Old West when, without a trial, men strung a guy up for stealing a horse. The minutemen only pointed out who they thought were guilty of a crime, maybe even making a citizen's arrest or two. The justice part is dealt with by others. When someone makes an arrest, that is not justice. Justice is served later after the facts are discussed.

I'm no fan of Pfc. Lindy Englund, but here's justice. She pleads GUILTY, in order to get the smaller 2 year sentence, and then the JUDGE says no you can't, because it was a S.O.P. to have "violent" prisoners on a leash. You must now plead NOT GUILTY, and the case will have to go to a full trial. If she is forced to plead not guilty, then why are we even having a trial, if what she did was now accepted?

Hey, Moldo, here's a question for you. Now, since we are both intelligent enough to know the dangers of letting people who are THAT hardcore to just go and patrol the border, where do you draw the line? How far do you let these "non-vigilante citizens" go before it's a problem? Remember: they had weapons. For "protection" or not, they were armed. So, if there's a leak in one of your pipes, how long do you let it go until you try to plug it up to stop more problems? The Minuteman Project going unchecked in is an invitation to disaster. Whether or not you think it was a cool idea, don't be dumb enough to argue that there aren't maniacs out there looking for a reason to take power into their own hands. And I am still totally baffled by these people's bosses at work.

Pale Rider, what happened to that rule where if you do a crime before it's prohibited, you aren't responsible for it after it's made a law? I guess that got thrown out the window too. So basically do not leave your house. Because if in 10 years it is illegal to throw away plastic and not recycle it, you are going to jail for crimes committed in 2005. It just doesn't make any sense.

I'm sure the Minutemen know the consequences of a gun going off and someone getting hurt. What about these people in inner cities involved in those "Neighborhood Watch" programs. You know, where each night several adults patrol their neighborhoods looking for suspicious things in order to prevent crimes. What if they stumble on a drug deal and get shot? These things can all happen I guess. But does this mean they should stop? Nothing is 100% safe.

Let's be honest here, do neighborhood watch programs accomplish anything? How many normal everyday people do you know that would see a bunch of thugs in a drug deal and then go over there and tell them to scram? They'd be even dumber if they DID carry a weapon.

So let's cut to the chase here TAE. Sounds like you don't think people should be allowed to carry weapons? Am I right? Or am I reading too much into your statements? Or are you saying it's ok as long as the person isn't out 'looking' for trouble so to speak?

These people going around looking for a drug deal will not be able to stop a drug deal. More than likely they will get capped and they will make the deal some where else. The only thing they could do would be to call the police

You're reading too much into it.
