True, but they aren't taking "overly important" jobs like professorships. But even so, if the guy was good, I'd be fine with it. Who's fault is this, really? The Mexicans or the people who hired them? The exact same people who let their employees go take part in the Minuteman Project. That doesn't make any sense.

Thought this country was being "built on the backs of blacks and MEXICANS working for less than minimum wage"? Obviously some jobs they are doing are important, right?

Notice the quotation marks, and his reference to teaching. Maybe I'll just type everything in bold.

TAE, there are quotas on the number of visas that are issued to immigrants. If all was done legally, this would be controlled. It is easier to control immigrants from Brazil because their biggest option to getting here is thru an airport, which has tighter controls. For people from countries that are further away, they usually come here on a tourist visa, which is good for six months at most, but don't leave when the visa expires, and the government doesn't really keep track of these people. For people in Mexico and Central America, they can transport themselves to the border and simply walk across. I know it's not a walk in the park, but it is an easy point of entry. Quotas for Mexico don't work because neither the US or Mexican govt enforces them or protects the border.
I agree the vast majority are coming here for work. Why does this matter? Most say they do the work Americans don't want to do, which is a false statement. They do the work that Americans are unwilling to do AT THAT WAGE. So say an American is willing to pick apples for $10 and a Mexican for $5. The only person who really cares is the American apple picker. You would hear a major outcry if your professor was replaced by an illegal Mexican who was willing to teach for half the price.[/quote]
Guess I have to link to Maddox. here is the url: http://maddox.xmission.com/c.cgi?u=walmart. Here is the hatemail he responded to on the subject, second one down. Both present very good arguments in a very humorous format.
