The Colt League will be making the switch to wooden bats this year. It should be an interesting switch.
With only 5 teams this year I would expect the Colt League to be very competitive. Especially with the caliber of coaching this year. Traditionally the coaching isn't the best in the colt division, this year is truly the exception. There is a lot of baseball expericence coaching in the leauge this year on every team. It is good to see young guys giving back to the game! A list of coaches with serious baseball experience are as followes
Vantage - Steve Vickroy (Johnstown Jonnies)
Delweld - Phil Pantano (UPJ)
RBS - Rick Roberts (Dodgers, HS Coach Richland)
Principle - Josh Rearick (Mansfield, HS Coach Forest Hills)
M & M - Cody Gallaher (UPJ)

3 out of 5, hmmmmm? Pretty good ratio of FH coaches to the rest.
Re: Colt Baseball
How is Cody Gallaher going to be coaching and playing 4-6 games per week in the AAABA this year?

Baeball in that area leaves a lot to be desired. Better coaches are needed, and more oppurtunities are needed for kids to play. This is true of western PA all around.
Just my opinion.
