Wrong Gunner. 6-AA is Tuesday and 6-AAA is Thursday.
When did you compare....in the early 90's????????? That is not true any longer. 5 compares very favorably with 7 especially when you consider the number of schools (OK longball and the D6 Wrasslin' fraternity...I know you don't want to hear that argument again!)

D7 has only sprinters and some jumpers...that's it.
D6 is superior in AA

Now AAA is a different story!

I agree Head Roadie.....and the sad part of that is that D7AA gets FIVE automatic qualifiers this year! In the last few years many of their 2nd and 3rd place finishers have not been near the state qualifying standard and now they get 5 based on the number of schools. I would bet that a very high percentage of winners in D5 would easily make the top 5 in D7AA. It will be interesting to compare when the districts are over.

my mistake HR, i thought for sure all of D6 was on the same day...being away this season has really messed w/ my head  anyway i did comparisons last year and you are correct that D7 dominates the sprints, but if memory serves me correct, they didnt dominate, but had a very strong showing in the throws and distances as well, but usually the sprints are the money makers in track..usually. just look...

sprints/jumps...
100
200
400
110HH
300IM
4X100
4X400
long jump
triple jump

now thats 9 events...exactly half of a meet, but then you must consider that the other half is broken down again into running and throwing

runs...
800
1600
3200
4X800

throws...
shot
jav
disc

and that leaves the pole vault open

now you can not tell me that d5/6 dominates in the both the long runs and throws every year, therefore thats even more events that goes the WPIAL's way.
