Well a bone in his foot is fractured. He had X-rays taken on Sunday I think.

No, I think it is true. It could have been broken later in the day, but pretty much all of Bedford's guys seem to concede it's broken.

yes, that would suck, but he will only get better next year. not that he needs to at all, i mean he's already blowing the competition away!!

anyway, what do you think about the girls teams?

I think that Berlin will be a major competitor this year. What about all the other schools such as Shade and Rockwood that most of the area teams havent seen much of? How will they do?

The Bedford Boys are still favored , however this is a serious blow to their team.At this level you can't take anything for granite. As far as chuckitoutder's thought that Derrick Harris was blowing the competition away, you may want to examine the Bedford county meet results a little closer.(long jump, high jump).I'm sorry to here this about Derrick the kid is a class act.You also may want to look at Berlin boys and Ridge boys more seriosly now. They are alot bigger threat now. On the girls side Berlin should cruise and I think the only ones who can stop them are themselves. Bedford, Ridge,Rockwood, Nortern Bedford and possible Shade should battle for the other top spots.

I agree that Derrick wasnt head and shoulders above anybody. His seeding in the long jump is, but he has only hit that once. Alot of solid jumps by him this year (not counting the county meet) and he was definetly the favorite. It will still be a good battle though. Watch out for the dark horses. He is a heck of an athlete and a great competitor and sportsman. Its sad to see him out. I'm not so sure about the Berlin boys stepping into the picture but i guess dont count them out. I would say look out for Meyersdale. Not sure where some of those times can from, but if they put them up at the district meet, they will be in the hunt as well.

D'Carrion now becomes more of a factor.Beverly in the jumps also benefits from the Harris injury. They have high seeds in the throws which could possible make them a team who could score on lots of top three places in events.

but you are forgetting that derrick has hit 21'6" a bunch and that would have gotten like 3rd in states most years! his best jump this year i believe would have won states! so he is above everybody in the state except westy's brad kanuch!

but the boys do need to watch out for ridge and other teams now! so it will get interesting!
