Re: Upcoming Dist. V Track meet
Does any school have a chance of beating Bedford at Districts?

Re: Upcoming Dist. V Track meet
With Derrick Harris out, I would say Bedford will still win, at least in all likelihood. However, if Ridge has some luck, and Bedford has a few bad breaks (things not going as well as expected), Ridge could possibly pull out a very close victory. But that's depending on Ridge having a lot of good luck, and Bedford not. Chances are, Bedford will still win. But now that Harris is out, Ridge could beat them on Bedford's bad day. If Derrick Harris were in, they'd be pretty much unstoppable.

Re: Upcoming Dist. V Track meet
The good thing is, Bedford won counties by a lot this year. It's sad to see Deek is out, I didn't know until I saw him at the chorus concert last night..
Anyway, another good thing about Bedford is they have more than 4 people than can potentially run the relays- Brian Duff can run just as fast as the rest of the original 4x1 team.

bedfords chances of winning districts arent as impacted NEARLY as bad as their chances of winning/placing at states. with a full and healthy squad there is no doubt in my mind that bedford would have gotten a top 5 finish on memorial day weekend with the possibility of a top 3 finish in the 4X1 or 4X4, but as it is, i dont think any of that will happen now...tho i would like to be proven wrong

I'm wondering how high of a place you people out there thought Bedford(as a team)would get at states? Simple put somewhere around 8TH is the only realistic thought. You have to remember there are alot of correctional and catholic schools at states. These schools can basically recruit athletes from anywhere. Now that philly is included, that only compounds the problem.Look at Milton Hershey in girls track, winners of probably 13 or more state championships over the last 16 years. They basically can go out and get atheletes like colleges. Not to mention the fact that Kanuch from Westmont will be probably top2 or maybe1 in four events. That's 35 to 40 points out of him alone. They also have a few good distance runners qualified who could sneak in. Bedfords talented but,now your out of one the smallest districts in the state and swimming with the sharks.

bedford has still beaten westmont at invites with kanuch winning all 4 events and it was only the top 2 in each event!

The District 1 AAAA track meet is absolutely RIDICULOUS.
The times/performances at that meet are in many cases as good as the PIAA AAA meet.
