old man, update your reading glasses, i clearly stated that WCC is a team event...meaning you need alot of good people, vice having only 1 or 2. also you state bedford as being a team with a good dual record but not a prayer at WCC...now correct me if im wrong but placing 3rd without a key athelete is pretty frigin good in my book. also, i never said there were exceptions, like last year when you had kanuch and mock combining for 70+ points alone...yea the team idea kinda goes out the window then...but most years, it takes a team effort to win WCC's and an individual effort to win States

Hey gunner maybe you should check your glasses,I said Bedford girls in my earlier post, not boys as being a good duel team.(not that the boys aren't)My examples were all girls teams. You can also check the wcc results and once again,I believe westmont was up there with just maybe 3 or 4 kids placing. Placing 3rd is good but you have to have more state level or close to state level talent than pure depth there. Some teams are blessed with both, but most times they are not. A good duel team will have 2 and 3 decent atheletes in every event. Quality at every spot is crucial. Not necessarily state qualifiers but decent performers. This same team won't fair as well at wcc because you need to be top end there. Heck a good duel meet team may not even get a top 3 finish at wcc or advance a kid to states.

yeah there is a difference between dual meets, invites, and states!
depends on the team!
