Well, Ford had the opportunity to score the tying run from third base. He was nearing home and there was play at the plate and he didn't slide, but rather ran directly into the catcher. Therefore, he was out by hitting the catcher, as he already had the ball in his glove. In all honesty, even being a Bedford supporter for that game, I wonder where Ford's head was at. Anybody who knows even a lick about baseball knows that when there is a play at the plate.....YOU SLIDE!

Aside from that, yes, Dan Patterson has a broken thumb on his right (and pitching) hand. He's got a cast and it will be off in three weeks, and according to the doctor, will be able to pitch again in four weeks. What a way to end your career...BLAH.

Ham...c'mon now...it wasn't just kyler's fault. You win as a team and you lose as a team...apparently you are trying to single it out on one player and that doesn't help things. Just let it go and forget about it. I am heart broken myself. It was hard to see us go down 1-0. Congrats to Everett for actually winning something though.

That's fine and dandy 10, but when he loses games in the regular season by his own choosing (i.e. stealing 3rd with 2 outs in the top of the 6th vs Somerset down a run with the 4 hitter standing in) then when he makes a boneheaded play that potentially ties the game, on a rule that is in every level of baseball throughout highschool, after playing baseball since he was 6, you know you slide on a close play or on any play to the plate...

tim mcgraw,

Everyone makes mistakes and you just need to realize that. I thought that a baseball player like you would know that you win as a team and lose as a team. Congratulations to everett and good luck in the future.

Ham you're all alone, bud. Everyone knows that you win as a team and you lose as a team. No ifs or buts about it. It's over and done with. A lot of things went wrong for Bedford, not just the one thing that you are singling out. Maybe he would have made it to the plate if he would've slid home, but we will NEVER know. Now just let it go. A "baseball" player like you should know that. But, maybe it takes a team player to understand that.

Thank you CRplayer...Ham just has a little temper and tends to single out players instead of the theory(you win as a team and you lose as a team, it's a team effort).

You lose as a team, win as a team but boneheaded mistakes are unacceptable. If Kyler had made a fielding error people wouldnt be out for his head like they are now. Mental errors cost ball games. It'll blow over though. It was mostly a game of hard luck. We hit the ball a lot more than Everett but right at somebody. Two questionable calls both ways cost Everett 2 bases and us 2 runs. A line shot caught by Banner saves a run and a line shot for Everett breaks my thumb. It was Everetts game to win.
