Re: best sports rivalries
I'm with Retro on this....to their individual schools there is no greater rivalry than Army/Navy. The whole student body from each school is bussed to the freakin' game. And it doesn't matter to either team if they win another game all year as long as they win that one.(which is probably good in recent years considering their records)
But I agree that OSU/Michigan is a big one, some other good college football ones to consider are USC/UCLA, Notre Dame/Michigan(old time), Texas/Oklahoma, Florida/FSU/Miami, WVU/Pitt, Notre Dame/BC, and of course Penn State/Temple....what?, no just kidding on that last one.(play Pitt for goodness sake PSU!!!)
Also Duke/UNC is unsurpassed in college hoops. But any of the ACC matchups lately can be seen as rivalries.
Baseball rivalries of course include NYY/Red Sox. But lets not forget two former NY teams the Dodgers/Giants rivalry has been good in the past. Also now the Dodgers have a new enemy the "Los Angeles" Angels of Anaheim!
