By the way, should've Slippery Rock won the national title one year if you base your power rankings on the outcome of the Rutger/MSU game? The Big East is weak. The Big Ten strong like bull.

how bout this......when was the last time the big east ever won a national championship.....and then look at how many times the big ten has. im not defending pennstate, im defending michigan....they play in the big ten, and it is a tough conference, i dont care what you say about illinois and msu. look at michigan, ohio state, iowa, wisconson, and usually penn state. the big east has west virginia, louiville, Uconn, and pitt.....i think the BIG ten is just a lil tougher

Penn State and Pitt are both average programs. Pitt has been good recently - better than Penn State - but they are both average. Penn State cannot win at home unless they play a terrible team. Pitt does not play anyone good (except Utah and we saw what happened there).

The Big East did win a title three years ago - but that was Miami, who is not in the ACC. The Big East is a pathetic conference compared with the Big 10. Any of the top four teams in the Big 10 could easily win the Big East this year. If not for Louisville, the Big East would not have any good teams this coming year. Stop talking about schedules. Penn State and Pitt are both average. They should play each other to stop this kind of arguement.

Before we start running the Big East into the ground about national titles, let's not forget that Miami is the best program in the entire country. Yes, they are no longer in the Big East, but they WERE. And the BIg East should have one more trophy in the national titles case, because as much as I seriously love Jim Tressel and Ohio State, that call was completely bogus.

wait a sec...i have a question....are penn state students still required to go to class, or are football games the only thing mandatory in happy valley? with everything penn state puts into their football program (pretty much the whole school) they should be much better. if pitt is such a crappy team...why argue about them...the fact is, come september penn state is going to have to put up or shut up, and pretty surely, just like since '99 the nittany lions will be shutting up.

okay.....this thing about miami????? are you kidding. they did win a title in the big east because they were the best team in the country and have a great program...which is also why they left the big east, there wasnt enough competition there so they joined in with florida state and other better teams that the big east just doesnt have

Miami did not leave the BE soley for football considerations. They have been one of the best football teams in the country for almost the last 20 years now. By staying in the BE, they would have a great chance every year of being in the BCS and having a shot at a national title. Since a BCS games offers far more money than a regular bowl game, you would think that would have been a huge consideration if this were just about football. Not to mention the huge sums of money the BE offered them to stay.

Coming from an angle of what is best for Miami athletics in general, the ACC is a better fit for them than the BE. Imagine the travel that the athletes from all sports have to go through each year. All the BE teams are in the northeast sector of the country. That's a lot of long road trips for all of the Miami athletes. Football goes on the road maybe 5-6 times a season. Can you imagine the basketball teams making constant trips up north in winter? Miami's football program would be fine no matter what conference they play in.....they moved because it was best for all of their sports programs.

The oregon ducks will be the team to beat this year, they have a 8'10'' QB that runs a 2.7 40 and has a vertical of 70". I'm glad PSU doesn't play them.
